The property

Enveloped by picturesque views of the surrounding countryside and set amidst the Peak District National Park is this characterful, stone-built property, Pine Cottage.

The barn conversion which rests next to the owner’s home and just a short distance away from the bustling market town of Leek is perfect for a couple or a group of friends to call home as they explore this part of Staffordshire.

Soak up the view of The Roaches, a prominent rocky ridge, before entering into the contemporary-styled, social hub of the home, the open-plan living room, containing everything required for a self-catered holiday.

The kitchen comes well-equipped to cater to your culinary needs and is accompanied by a spacious dining table, where you can gather together to relish in some catch up time or pull open the map to plot the next day’s adventure.

Joining the space is an inviting sitting area, where you can look forward to curling up on the leather sofa with tune into the TV or get cosy on the armchair to delve into a good book.

Alternatively, if you are visiting during the summer months, take some drinks outdoors onto the private terrace area, complete with table and chairs, so that you can toast to a wonderful holiday whilst sat underneath the stars.

As the evening ends, catch your rest in one to the two bedrooms, each one boasting a neutral colour palette offering refreshing spaces to come back to, as well as good wardrobe storage and their own TVs, which are perfect for escaping the excitement of the rest of the group or for enjoying a lazy Sunday morning.

Choose between a plush king-size bedroom and a double bedroom, both of which are served by a sleek shower room, featuring a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Explore your surroundings further by talking a leisurely stroll through the village, where you will find a welcoming pub serving traditional ales and good home-cooked food, as well as a quaint tearoom, where you can delight in breakfast before lacing up your walking boots and exploring the plethora of paths in the area.

Be sure to make some time to explore the nearby Roaches, a true Peak District gem, home to 15-metre natural gritstone clefts and promising beautiful views across Leek and Tittesworth Reservoir.

Tittesworth Reservoir itself also promises to be an action-packed afternoon out, with opportunities for fishing and an array of watersports, ranging from sailing and kayaking, to raft building and paddle boarding.

Leek market town is also well worth a visit, where you can meander the stone-cobbled market square and admire the its well-preserved architecture before enjoying its wealth of independent shops and pick up delicious, local produce from the traditional butchers, bakers and greengrocers.

After completing the local area, travel further afield to explore the spa town of Buxton, the National Trust property of Biddulph Grange Garden and the historical landmark of Mow Cop Castle.
