  • "Great property and location, I would defiantly stay again."

Only note I have is the shower is very small and there ideally needs to be more cutlery and cooking trays but they are only small issues.

  • "This is a lovely apartment in Leek, very central for all restaurants and bars."

Plenty of space for 4 people with parking just by the entrance which is very handy. Very clean and comfortable, the owner is easy to contact if you need to know anything during your stay.

  • "An excellent holiday let."

Clean, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with ten tons of character. Damian the host is friendly and helpful without being invasive. Town centre location and private parking both added bonuses. Thank you very much for an enjoyable stay.

  • "Delightful place but tone down the hype!"

The “games room” was a closet with barely room for two on an uncomfortable seat. The TV was impossible- we gave up after one night! Take your I-pad!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and appreciate overall you found Gaunt Buildings delightful. Following your comment regarding the TV not working we have tried the TV and the reason it wasn’t working was that the batteries in the remote had expired. Apologies this had affected your stay, and rather you had called us at the time so it could have been easily been resolved. We did confirm prior to your arrival that we live only my 5 minutes away and if you needed anything then not to hesitate to call. >> With regards the games room there are photos on the listing which show this room and the seating. The seat is a antique pew which is in character with the rest of the building and there are plenty of cushions to be used as required. Property Owner

  • "Convenient for the town."

Beautiful building. Very comfortable and well equipped. We are Senior Citizens and luckily were able to cope with the beautiful staircase.

  • "On the whole a fantastic, clean and comfortable apartment in a wonderful building and Leek is well situated for the Peak district and restaurants."

However, a few minor points to be aware of - lots of internal steps and quite steep, no freezer or ice box, oven doesn’t really work and complicated to use, being in town centre it can be noisy at night and early morning. We filtered on accommodation with outdoor space - the entrance area/driveway in a car park was not particularly pleasant as an area to sit. It was not private.

  • "The owner, Damian, quickly rectified any problems we experienced with the kitchen appliances."

The door into the jack and Jill bathroom from the landing does not shut properly and has no working lock.

  • "We contacted the owner as the weather was particularly cold for May and we needed some heating."

He was very friendly, helpful (and patient!) describing how to put the heating on. The welcome pack was gratefully received and enjoyed too. We would stay there again if going to that area. Would highly recommend Primo Piano and Leek Bar and Grill restaurants in Leek

  • "The building is magnificent and the rooms are grand."

Very easy secure parking for two cars which is unusual for Leek centre. The heating is very efficient and the house, given its age and size is not cold and draughty. We stayed for few weeks between house moves, and it felt like home. Very good communication with the owner. If I had to give some recommendations for improvement it would be more written instructions for the appliances for the less technically minded, and a better catch on the bathroom door!
