  • "Very comfortable cottage in nice location."

  • "This is a wonderful cottage in a very quiet location, we felt close to nature."

Living in a city it was wonderful to have the window open at night and hear nothing but birdsong. The owner is lovely and very helpful with making the stay just right. We travelled with our baby so she set up a cot and high chair for us ahead of our arrival.

  • "We really enjoyed our 2 week stay here."

The cottage was spotlessly clean, wonderfully spacious and equipped, with a gorgeous garden in a peaceful location just made for relaxing. The location provides easy access to local trails and reservoirs within walking distance, and it's not too far to drive to attractions like Biddulph grange gardens (lovely day out and a nice pub called The Talbot just up the road, great food), Chatsworth and Bakewell (recommend visiting Thornbridge Brewery). The Roaches are a 15 minute drive up the road too, great walking country.

  • "The property was wonderful with plenty of room inside and had a very good sized garden to enjoy."

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, and filled with everything you would need to enjoy your stay. In a good location for sightseeing/walking by car but also had 2 great walking areas within a 5mins walk starting from the cottage (Ladderedge Country Park and the River Churnet walk. Just a 8-10min walk into Leek where you'll come to a Sainsburys and Marston pub Mulberry Leaves first (there is also an Aldi and Morrisons plus other pubs further into town). No need to pack w-up liquid, washing liquid, cleaning products, hand soap as plenty there, plus the usual tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits kindly left. You really won't be disappointed with your stay. We certainly intend to return to continue exploring the area from such a comfortable home base.

  • "The cottage was very welcoming and very homely and comfortable."

The owner made us very welcome and explained everything they had put in place because of the present situation. The little welcome touches such as tea coffee milk were a lovely thought. The garden was peaceful. The area was beautiful and we would love to visit again.

  • "The house was of a high standard and met our needs very well."

The weather was very good so we were able to enjoy relaxing in the garden listening to the birds which was a delight. We had an elderly relative with us who walks with a stick and the straight run of stairs (13 steps) had a rail on both sides. So although steeper than at his home he managed them well. There were mats along the landing which we rolled up during our stay so not a trip hazard for him during the night. Milk, tea, coffee and biscuits awaiting our arrival was a kind and welcome thought.
