  • "We stayed in the Dog friendly The Lymes from 1 - 8 September 2023."

We have holidayed in quite a few dog friendly cottages before, some good others not so. The Lymes exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, exceptionally equipped with everything you could possibly need. It really was a home from home, comfy furniture, comfy beds, dishwasher, washer, tumble dryer. The welcome pack on arrival made you feel as though a friend had popped in and left you so much more than the essentials. The garden was a total sun trap and totally enclosed, no worry about our dog escaping. The garden furniture beckoned you to sit back, chill and enjoy whatever tipple takes your fancy. It’s situated in a quiet cul de sac, within easy walking distance into town. We will definitely be returning next year.

Parking is directly outside the house on a driveway. The house has 3 bedrooms with a very comfortable double bed in the main bedroom. Upstairs bathroom and downstairs cloakroom both very good. Well equipped kitchen and a nice large dining area too. The welcome pack of bread, milk, wine etc. was very welcome thanks. Will definitely book again next time were down this way

It was comfortable, very clean, all the decoration and furniture was to a very high standard, and the garden was lovely too, though it was a bit too cold to use it! The communications from the owner and Sykes were excellent. It was a lovely 15 minute walk into town, which was perfect. There was a nearby park for our dog to run in, which was lovely. We had a wonderful stay and it was useful to be able to book a non standard week.

  • "This is a lovely property near enough to Shrewsbury to walk into the town center but far enough away that you are not caught up in the noise of the city."

Shrewsbury was lovely to visit. Lots of history, old interesting buildings and the park was amazing. The property had everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was well equipped, outside had ample garden furniture and thoughtful little touches around the house had been left making the property feel much more homely. For example, in the bathroom there was shampoo, condition, shower gel by the bath and a little box made up with cotton buds, toothpicks, soap etc. In the kitchen the owners had left plenty of dishwasher tablets, bin bags, washing up liquid etc. If you are looking to visit Shrewsbury this property is definitely one to consider. I have already recommended The Lymes to my mother and mother-in-law for them to visit. In all we had a lovely week away which was mainly down to the comfortable property we had hired. Thank you

  • "The welcome pack on arrival was a nice surprise, as were the toiletries in the upstairs bathroom."

The house was very clean and tidy and the kitchen had everything needed for home cooking. The local shops and major supermarkets are within a short drive from the property and if you're fit enough you can walk into Shrewsbury. I had booked this property knowing that the shower was over the bath, but as we are not so nimble these days we found it difficult to step over the bath to enter and exit the shower. As for having a bath, that is definitely not possible - we'd never get out! I'm afraid we will have to look at other properties with a shower cubicle in future. Unfortunately, I found the mattress on the twin bed (converts to King size) extremely hard which, for me, was very uncomfortable. The property is located in a very quiet cul-de-sac away from the busy main road, There is a very nice garden to sit in, which would catch the sun for most of the day. This property proved to be very well placed for our visits to relatives and friends.
