  • "We had such a good holiday the kids had a ball in the ball pit and soft play area."

Very generous of the owners to allow access to these facilities. The cottage itself was lovely barn conversion with everything you need. Fresh towels and crisp bed linen just topped it off. Access to the all weather tennis court was a bonus as well. Saving the best till last... the 'hidden' bothy in the woodland owned by the hosts was the highlight. chilling out with the kids in front of a log fire after exploring the woods was wonderful. Cannot recommend this cottage and the hosts Mike and Sharron highly enough.

  • "A lovely cottage with fantastic beds, a massive comfy sofa, all the facilities you could need, and extremely welcoming and helpful hosts."

A great base from which to explore Shropshire and Wales. We had a couple of minor teething problems with the cottage (we were only the 3rd guests they'd had) but these were swiftly sorted by the owners, who live onsite and who couldn't have been more helpful. As an EV owner, it was hugely convenient having a 3-pin external plug right outside the cottage, and the owner was kind enough to allow us to charge our car when required.

Set over two floors and sleeping up to six guests, Dairy Cottage promises a fantastic getaway for all the family, where you can benefit from the on-site childcare facility run by the owners and the fantastic facilities of a tennis court, barbecue options, a jungle gym and 50 acres of woodland.

Be welcomed into the spacious open-plan living area with kitchen, dining and seating area, where you can look forward to whipping up delicious home-cooked meals for your guests in the well-equipped kitchen, with dishwasher and washing machine, as your guests uncork a bottle of wine and set the dining table.

After your meal, put your feet up on the generous corner sofa and settle down to enjoy your favourite film on the TV.

Enjoy a refreshing shower before catching your rest in one of three bedrooms, the first being a ground-floor double with TV, ideal for those with limited mobility.

Climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find two additional double bedrooms, with character beams which hark to the property’s previous use and add a traditional feel.

Pour in the bubbles and enjoy a hot soak in the bath, before joining your guests in the small front garden for your morning coffee.

Set out for the day and enjoy a wander around the local village, where you will find a delightful selection of independent shops, a bakery, a well-stocked supermarket and the welcoming Fox and Hounds restaurant, perfect for when you don’t feel like spending an evening in the kitchen.

Venture to the market town of Market Drayton, which has an excellent golf course set in the peaceful countryside for those who are looking to test out their clubs, close proximity to the River Tern for enjoying a scenic walk with loved ones, as well as the Damson Wood Walk where you can explore the woodland and vast fields and spot the local wildlife.

Next stop is Shrewsbury, where you soak up the history of the town at the remarkable medieval Shrewsbury Abbey, wander the grounds of the impressive Shrewsbury Castle, which houses a wide variety of military memorabilia and impressive views overlooking the town from Laura’s Tower.

Nearby is the Shrewsbury Prison, where you can walk the same ground as the 18th-century prisoners and tour the empty cells and yard.
