  • "This cottage was lovely/ really well furnished, clean and full of character."

It’s really well equipped and had everything we needed including dvds, books, toys for children, lots of kitchen items, nice towels and comfortable bedding. The welcome pack was a bonus. The hot tub was great at the end of the day. Loads to do in surrounding area and also great for Alton Towers visit. Hope to come back to stay here.

  • "Great cottage."

Loved our stay. The cottage has everything you need. Very spacious downstairs,Hot tub fab, thank you Alison for looking after it. had a lovely break. Cottage was clean throughout, although a little tlc to bathroom is required, eg skirting boards need fixing, bath re sealing, same as skirting loose near front door. Main Bedroom, Laura and Martin I only mention this just make you aware. I understand that perhaps being booked up doesn’t give you much time, Also a night light on landing would be helpful, as the step into main bedroom could be a hazard when your half a sleep and older .peaceful place. Will mention parking a bit tight in an estate car, pot holes in lane to the property but nothing to do with owners. The small garden is not attached to house, but just across the way front of property, and 2nd parking place. No gate to stop dog going out as you open door, So next time will bring my door gate, but again, readers do Not be put off brilliant place to stay pubs in village, ship inn do food (NO Dogs) . X keys pub allow dogs, no food, was good for walks, footpath across from property. A big thank you to owners for welcome packs, really nice surprise. We go to at least 3/4 properties a year using different agents , they all have their little faults BUT this one is definitely in my top 5. Which we will use again and again. Thank you for a great stay.

  • "What a lovely find."

We took our teenage girls to Alton Towers for a few days and this was such a lovely place to come home to. All the home comforts and more. The hot tub was great and well used after walking round all day. The parking was a little challenging with a big car as it was hard to turn to get out so we had to reverse down the narrow lane, but no issues. Thank you for a great stay, would highly recommend!

  • "We had a lovely 4 night stay in this beautiful cottage with kids 13 and 11 and our dog."

On arrival we had a welcome pack, even the dog! We really appreciated the prosecco to kick off our holiday as well as bread, milk, biscuits and even ice pops for the kids! The cottage is really well equipped with washer, drier, dishwasher etc. There are loads of magazines, books, games, toys for younger kids and even a PS4 so we were reassured we would be ok even if it rained during our stay. The hot tub was perfect and is secluded, a big bonus of this cottage! Tean itself is a great location with shops, pubs, park and easy access to the Peak District and places like Alton Towers, Trentham monkey forest and high ropes. Very beautiful part of the UK. Thanks for our lovely stay!

  • "The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed."

I agree with past comments about an extra step/flat stone coming out of the hot tub.Overall very pleased with the cottage but a word of warning don’t put any food in the corner carousel, we did but mice ate some of it so we had to throw it away. The road to it is also quite narrow.

Thank you for the feedback. We really do apologise about the unwanted visitor and can assure you that the problem has been resolved. We've also done a thorough deep clean. We have taken on board the feedback regarding a step for the hot tub, and had one installed. We've also updated our guest communication to highlight the narrow nature of the road on the approach to the property. Thank you again for your review. We look forward to seeing you again soon. • "We booked this for a few days away so that our teenage boys could spend time at Alton towers."

It’s a gem of a place! Tucked away down a little lane (mind the potholes!), the cottage was spotlessly clean. The host had left some thoughtful welcome items such as bread, milk, oatcakes, biscuits and a bottle of wine. Tea and coffee plus condiments were there too. The hot tub was an added bonus and there were plenty of towels provided. The plants and lighting around the cottage and the table and chairs next to the hot tub, made it a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of a days exploring. The cottage was very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you
