About the location

MILWICH

Stone 4 miles; Stafford 8 miles; Uttoxeter 8 miles; Alton Towers 16 miles.

Milwich is an ancient and beautiful rural Staffordshire village with a picturesque brook nestling in a valley and completely surrounded by farmland. The village has many listed buildings and is recorded in the Doomsday Book. It has a thriving, award winning pub and a peaceful old stone church notable for possessing the oldest bell in Staffordshire, and the seventh oldest dated English bell. Four miles away is the bustling market town of Stone with a long and colourful history as a canal town. Stone is known as The Food and Drink Capital of Staffordshire because of the diverse choice of cuisine on offer in the many restaurants, the weekly farmers' market and the annual Food and Drink Festival which attracts 20,000 foodies from far and wide. Just 8 miles away is the university county town of Stafford with its delightful mix of ancient and modern architecture, medieval churches, sport and leisure facilities, excellent shops and fine eateries and inns. Just 10 miles away is the magnificent Shugborough Hall estate and the wilds of Cannock Chase, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a National Park.
