  • "Happy with the accommodation and the garden couldn’t be better if you have a dog which we do."

Would suggest a bread knife, a sharp knife and a bigger frying pan. Additional comfortable garden chairs would also be great. A crab handle would be helpful in the bath. On the whole the accommodation was great and we had a lovely time.

Thank you, and really pleased the dog had fun too! You are quite right the bread knife had disappeared, now replaced. We will resharpen the kitchen sharp knives. There is a big frying pan as well as the smaller one, it was towards the back of the pan cupboard so maybe not spotted. The outside chairs have cushions kept in the cupboard in the kitchen, they live in there are they don’t do well if left outside, we can maybe look at altering the welcome pack information to highlight that they are there. Thank you Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at Ploughman's Cottage over the Easter weekend."

The cottage was perfect for the four of us and the dog enjoyed being able to run around in the enclosed garden. A very comfortable and clean property with plenty of space and in a great location to explore northern Shropshire and surrounding areas. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped (the welcome hamper was a really nice touch!), although we struggled using the oven (clock wasn't set) and microwave. The manuals for these would have been helpful. Having said that, we didn't look whether they were in the property... We would highly recommend Ploughman's Cottage for a weekend stay or even longer!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, and we would love to have you back sometime. Just for clarification, the oven clock doesn’t need to be set for it to work, if you switch the oven off at the wall the clock unsets, many guests switch the cooker off at the wall, we guess for safety. All the user manuals for the cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, smart tv, dvd and stereo are in the cottage folder which we leave on the coffee table in the lounge at the start of each booking. Property is delightfully furnished and well equipped and very clean. A lovely base for trips to local gardens and walks and the beautiful countryside.

Thank you for being so understanding about the TV not working well off the aerial signal. It transpired we had had a junior trainee aerial engineer in a previous party who had damaged the aerial socket. 2 engineer visits later, a new aerial wall socket and, all fixed. Not ideal and we can only apologise. The only plus being that as it is a smart tv the internet accessed channels were never affected. Property Owner

Kitchen is very well equipped with good quality pans, cutlery etc and the weĺcome hamper was very impressive. Dog treats were also appreciated by our Labrador. The bathroom was good and downstairs toilet very handy, with liquid hand gel in both. Our bed was comfortable with good quality linen. Instructions for the tv would have helped, as we could only get iPlayer and other catch-up channels all week. Apart from the above, we would recommend this cottage.

Lovely food welcome box with wine milk , etc and dog biscuits and towel for your 4 legged friend. Nice garden with chairs and a useful hose to clean offmuddy paws. The house is not in a village and we had to drive every day to go walking or exploring the area. There are a few foothpaths locally but farmers request dogs on leads. Everything you need in the kitchen with table and chairs, log burner was great all prepared for use with basket of logs provided.

Loo paper holder needs a refit to the wall. Apart from those small faults we found it very pleasant, very comfortable and well up to the standards we have elsewhere enjoyed.

Thank you ever so much for letting us know about the remote, unlikely we would pick this up when servicing the cottage. Suspect the weekly alcohol wiping between lets has not agreed with it. Replacement now ordered and will be with the current guests as soon as we have it. Will have a look at both toilet roll holders upstairs and downstairs and fix if loose. We would have sorted both issues during your stay, had we have known! Best wishes, thanks again and hope to see you again maybe. Property Owner

There is a modern and well fitted, bright kitchen/diner with all the utensils, pots and crockery you will need. Large integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A well stocked ‘welcome pack’ including fresh milk was a nice touch as were the dog basket, bowls, towel and biscuits. The living room is homely, bright, beautiful decor and wonderful log burner with french doors leading to the front garden. The stairs to the first floor are quite steep and the sloping ceilings do dictate that there are no wardrobes. There are hooks with provided wooden hangers which were fine for our stay. Lovely roman blinds in both bedrooms and high quality white bed linen. The bathroom is large, bright with modern fittings providing plenty of hot water. The property sits side on to the road and you can hear the traffic in the mornings if you have the windows open but it wasn't an issue. Lovely cottage in rural location which I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.

  • "Wow! What a fantastic cottage: beautifully converted to a high standard, very well equipped, and very clean."

(Not so much as a stray dog hair to suggest that pets are welcome.) I'm 6ft 7in tall and my son is 6ft 3in and - along with his sensibly-sized mother - we found Ploughman's Cottage spacious with plenty of comfortable seats in the sitting room, and generous-sized beds. There's a decent-sized bathroom with shower and bath AND plenty of hot water for three hot showers in a row (maybe more). Fantastic views from just about every room and, despite such a close road, wonderfully quiet with the double-glazing. The photos don't do the garden justice and there is wonderful birdsong, with bird-seed provided. The location is ideal for day trips to Shrewsbury, the Ironbridge Museums, Hawkstone Park Folllies, and some wonderful walks. Previous visitors have enthused about the welcome basket and I can see why - containing everything from red wine to homemade jam - but it's also a good indication of the warmth of the welcome and the attention to detail. We were very lucky with the weather - sunshine, sunshine, sunshine - but, had we decided to spend more time in the cottage, it would have been a wonderful place to read and relax. Would we recommend Ploughman's Cottage to anyone else? You'd better believe it! Five stars.

Cosy but modern interior with everything we needed. The welcome basket was a thoughtful touch, and the beds were really comfortable. We enjoyed the log burner during our visit, which made it even cosier. Tidy private garden which would be great to sit out in on a Summer evening. Access to walks at nearby Soulton Hall was good too; we enjoyed a walk through the woods. The cottage is situated close to Whitchurch for shopping, restaurants and pubs, plus close to road network for tourist visits to places a little further afield.

, plus various National Trust properties. Cottage is equipped with virtually anything that one might need and there was a comprehensive welcome pack. Although there are no wardrobes because of the sloping ceilings on the first floor, (which adds to the character), there are plenty of hooks and a good supply of hangers and we found it more than adequate for our needs for a week long holiday. All that was available were a row of four/five hooks in each bedroom with eight hangers between two bedrooms. Due to this we had to locate the nearest Argos and go out on arrival to purchase a hanging rail which was not at all what we expected to do. However, I do appreciate that not all buildings can accommodate all features but strongly believe that not to be made aware of this is wrong. On the plus side the owners left an extremely generous welcome pack which was lovely and very much appreciated and as I said the cottage was what we expected and we did have a relaxing holiday and did enjoy staying there - thank you.
