The property

Shooter's Lodge has welcoming, comfortable, and spacious accommodation for up to six guests.The cottage has generous lawned gardens, convenient outside seating and ample space for parking.There are lovely views across open fields which undulate towards oak woodlands and Hawkstone Hill.

Inside the accommodation is friendly and cosy.The sitting room has a log burner, smart TV and picture window looking out on the landscape, while the large kitchen and dining area looks out on to a secluded area of garden, and has access to a sheltered area for alfresco dining enjoying a sunny spot with good views. Create together a delicious home-cooked meal in the kitchen area (equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, and fridge-freezer), to serve at a large wooden table ideal for good food, good company, and relaxation.

Withdraw to one to the three sumptuous super king-sized bedrooms (all rooms can be prepared as twin or double rooms (please let us know when booking) decorated with classic period furniture, antique features, and plenty of storage.All of the bedrooms are en suite, with the bedroom nearest the sitting room having a large shower room which could suit children or less mobile adults; the other two en suites having generous P-shaped shower-baths, perfect for an evening of pure relaxation.

The cottage has access, by special exclusive paths, to some of the surrounding landscape (abundant with wildlife such as otters and at least 15 red status birds), which includes rivers, woodlands, and an area of new stone henge-style monuments including an open air theatre which attracts interesting performances during the sunny months; and a restaurant is withing walking distance at Soulton Hall.

Shooter's Lodge is located on the Welsh border, near the Norman town of Wem.

It is well-situated to access the castles and mountains of north Wales, the world heritage site of Ironbridge and the many and varied attractions of a beautiful, quite part of England.

Shropshire has an intriguing and successful food culture to embrace and explore on your visit, and the vibrant and attractive town of Shrewsbury with its annual programme of festivals is just fifteen minutes away.

This small market town in Shropshire has a welcoming and quaint feel about it, nestled just north of the Shropshire Hills AONB, near borders of Wales and England, it is the perfect base for touring a wonderful region of Britain.
