  • "Fantastic property with a lot of character and spectacular views."

The property owners were extremely helpful both prior to and during our stay. The farm shop was lovely - very convenient if you didn’t want to drive 20 mins for some milk! The only slight inconvenience was the lack of shower but we knew this before booking. All in all, The Tractor Shed was a beautiful stay. The owners provided everything we needed for our stay (and even popped a carton on milk in the fridge for us). Definitely recommend to those wanting a countryside escape. Thank you both!

Really quirky and unique property with all the rustic features, it really looks just like it does in the advert photos. The property was clean and tidy and it was a beautiful property to relax in, especially in the evenings by the fire. Great location with the farm shop located round the corner, lots of nice countryside and delicious restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

Broken furniture, lamps , glass missing in dresser door , Bathroom extraction, Disgusting !,, , drawers and cupboards with no order or tidinesses, bath

So sorry you didn’t appreciate the tractor shed Robin. As you may have seen we won an award for Sykes quirkiest property and as you can see from our reviews most people who have visited appreciate and love it as much as we do . Perhaps a premier inn next time with all its boxed off commercially laundered neatness might be more your scene. Happy holidays !!! Ps I’ll have a word with the spiders who must have been extra productive that night as I know it was properly cleaned for your arrival. Property Owner

It truly is a little slice of heaven - a perfect base to explore the beautiful Shropshire countryside, and many nearby attractions. The outside space is great and we enjoyed many evenings out there star gazing. We particularly loved the open plan living space, especially cuddling up with a hot chocolate in front of the roaring log burner in the evening. It was lovely to meet Fiona, she was super welcoming and full of great recommendations for places to eat out. We would highly recommend visiting The Swan at Marbury during your stay - their roast was delicious! An excellent start to 2022 - we will definitely be back to The Tractor Shed again soon. Don’t hesitate, book now - you won’t regret it.

  • "We had a wonderful stay and absolutely loved the Tractor Shed it had everything we needed but unfortunately the heating broke down on New Years Eve."

The Owners did all they could ringing a plumber, stocking us up with wood for the log burner and putting in a fan heater in but it just took the shine off it slightly as chilly in places that were away from the burner like the bathroom and getting up in the mornings, but you can't magic a plumber at New Year !! We worked closely with the owners who were absolutely 100% fantastic and couldn't have done more for us with Prosecco, Chocolate and offer of a free night ( couldn't take sadly as back to work the next day) We had a lovely stay though and the sausages from the Farm shop were the best we have ever had and wished the shop had been open when we left to bring home more but it was a bank holiday. The whole area for visiting was great and highly recommend the Shrewsbury Prison tour and Shrewsbury itself and Attingham Park to see the deer and house and the Severn Valley Railway. We will return in the summer when we can appreciate the sun through the large windows and sitting outside having a drink and BBQ Very Highly Recommend

Thank you again for being lovely guests and so understanding about the heating situation. Come again soon x Property Owner

The owners have added so many wonderful touches to the interior, with rustic yet beautiful light fittings, very comfy furniture and great quality essentials in the kitchen. We loved our relaxing evenings in front of the fire place, chilling on the sofas, and wonderfully peaceful mornings enjoying the views and delicious breakfast bits from the farm shop next door. The property was just what we needed for a break in the Shropshire area and was ideally located for a variety of activities and day trips. The property is stunning as you can see from the photos, but it's well equipped too and there wasn't one thing I felt I needed. Being able to put an order in with the farm shop prior to arrival was a great touch. It allowed us to not worry about dinner or breakfast for our first day and morning. Having fresh bread deliveries, ground coffee for the cafetiere, eggs and bacon (bacon from the farm!) really helped us relax into holiday mode on that first morning. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay. Kris & Kim.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that it affected your stay with us. We don't pretend to be in a quiet backwater but the property is set 100m back from the road with fields and trees in-between and whilst it is an A road as you can see from the map of our property it isn't constant noise and isn't 24 hours. It is such a beautiful place and the view over the fields is stunning. The conversion is so well done and the light and space really lovely. The farm shop next door is wonderful and the children made frequent trips to by ice cream. There are lots of great local days out, we went to Chester, Shrewsbury, Attingham Park, Hoos Farm Zoo, the steam train from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster. It was a relaxing and special week and we would recommend the Tractor Shed highly. A couple of small things would have made it even better. In previous cottages there has been a cake or fresh bread left for us on arrival. After a 5 hour drive that would have been a welcome sight. Some washing machine tablets, extra loo rolls, and a clothes airer would have been helpful. But they are just little niggles and didn't spoil anything.

Had a wonderful week. The owners have put their all into this barn. Beautifully crafted and furnished. Lots of little decorative touches to admire. II know this is probably down to personal taste, but we found the huge, gorgeous bed sooo comfortable; it was hard to leave it in the mornings! The way the barn is set up, you feel together all the time. A perfect, romantic getaway. There is a farm shop on site, so perfect for cooked brunch. Yum! However, you aren’t aware of it being there, so it doesn’t disturb your peace, nor the other holiday cottage. It’s a perfect place for visiting National Trust places & we discovered that Wollerton Hall gardens is just down the road, if only we’d come at the right time of year. A good reason to return! Not that you need an excuse. 11/10!

Was lovely eating at the table over looking the green fields. We had great weather, Kids loved exploring and we had daily visits from a friendly black cat. Was warm inside on hot days due to one side being all glass but soon cooled down with doors open to let the air through. • "Enjoyed the holiday but we did have a few issues."

    1) Toilet seat was broken, they said that they would replace it, but it never got done. 2) The cold water tap on the bath was broken, and the toilet pull chain was also broken. 3) The railings on the patio fencing.......the sheep that were in the field kept rubbing their bodies on the fence and the iron railings kept coming out. The rail would be banging onto the property, this was not such a problem during the day but at every morning was not so good. The sheep them were able to get onto our patio and very kindly leaving their droppings. 4) The adjacent patio .....there was no fencing to the adjacent property let so the sheep would congregate on the patio in numbers, again leaving their droppings. The down stairs bedroom window was next to this and as you can imagine the smell was very bad. It didn't get cleaned up by the owners. We were unable to leave the window open. 5) There was no dishwasher in the property and when we went to use a glass there was still some lipstick on it, also some dishes had grease on them, we had to clean some items before using them. 6) In the information booklet at the property it said there was a barbeque and patio furniture.....all that we had was a bench which we had to use to block the fence so the sheep could not get through.

We stayed here for two nights (4 adults and 1 small child) and wish I had booked for longer. The Tractor Shed is a beautiful barn conversation - exactly as described on Sykes Cottages. We really felt at home in the barn with comfortable furniture, amazing decor (I now want to decorate my whole house) and fabulous facilities. The stand alone bath was a real luxury before getting cosy on the sofa to watch a movie (we took our amazon box to connect to the tv to stream Netflix). There were also plenty of books to read in the gorgeous cabinet and many different board games and puzzles. The kitchen was one of my favourite parts of the barn with everything you could possibly need. We had two cooked breakfasts (amazing bacon and sausages from Maynard’s farmshop run by Fiona & Rob) and a full roast dinner. We found amazing fresh vegetables in a local farm shop about half a mile down the road and it was honestly the best roast dinner we’ve ever made. We had plenty of visits from Maisey the dog who was so friendly we were sad to say goodbye - especially my one year old niece. The Tractor Shed is a perfect getaway if you’re looking to relax. There is so much to do if you have a car to go exploring, with lots of local walks, bike routes and plenty of castles/parks/houses to see. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone without a car as there is no footpath on the main road. Check out was supposed to be 10am but we were told that morning we could stay for the rest of the day as there were no other gusts arriving that day which was very generous. I’d rate the whole stay 10/10 and will definitely be back. It made my 30th Birthday a wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to go back.
