  • "We had a lovely relaxing stay."

Rob the owner couldn't have been more helpful and gave us some excellent recommendations for places to eat at and see. Rob also ran through the relevant information about the property and then was on hand in the excellent farm shop attached to the property. The Tractor Shed itself is wonderfully decorated and has stunning views and was beautifully positioned for us to go travelling around the area. We slept beautifully in the huge comfortable bed and we greatly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend The Tractor Shed.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. Hopefully we will see you again soon Rob and Fiona Property Owner

It is an amazing structural sight to behold. With it being all glass at the back you have beautiful light and far reaching views to enjoy. Very comfortable and spacious with everything you need. The farm shop is a moments walk away for every day bits and pieces and luxurious treats too. It was a great base to explore from and we toured many towns comfortably in one day in the surrounding areas. Thoroughly recommend.

  • "We have just come back from an incredible short stay at The tractor Shed."

I have had this place in my Sykes favourites for a few years and its so worth the visit. Beautifully furnished, well equipped and ultra comfy beds. Plus the bonus of daily visits from Tilly the farm cat. I worried before visiting about the cottage being on the site of another let, the farm shop and the hosts but the positioning of the tractor shed ensures total privacy and peace. Fiona and Rob are the ideal hosts, managing to be available if and when you need them but are in no way intrusive at all. I can't think of anything bad to say about this place- LOVED it.

Thank you fiona for your super feedback. It was lovely to meet you and the girls and I know Tilly will miss you. Hopefully see you again sometime soon perhaps for a longer visit. I know you made the most of your time here but so much more to do x Property Owner

  • "Firstly we had a cracking stay at the tractor shed."

We liked it's quirkiness and yet it had some nice home comforts. The bed in particular was very comfy. I liked the patio area, sitting out with a glass of wine. Waiting for the barn owl to come flying past. Only downside, the television had no signal and the main lights had a life of their own!

Hi Alan Im so glad you had a good stay. Unfortunately as we were on holiday we couldn't sort it as quickly as we would have liked but managed to get hold of our electrician who came in the day you left and fixed the lights and the tv. I hope it didn't affect your stay too much. fiona Property Owner

Hi Katrina Im sorry you weren't entirely happy with the tractor shed. In order to maximise light and space in the building we decided against big heavy furniture and provided nice hooks and chests of drawers instead. There isn't really the height upstairs for tall furniture as you have the eaves of the building in the way. Yes the bathroom is quite dark but mainly because its painted a dark shade of blue but it is well lit and we think very cosy. I hope you still had a nice stay. Property Owner

It truly is a little slice of heaven - a perfect base to explore the beautiful Shropshire countryside, and many nearby attractions. The outside space is great and we enjoyed many evenings out there star gazing. We particularly loved the open plan living space, especially cuddling up with a hot chocolate in front of the roaring log burner in the evening. It was lovely to meet Fiona, she was super welcoming and full of great recommendations for places to eat out. The Owners did all they could ringing a plumber, stocking us up with wood for the log burner and putting in a fan heater in but it just took the shine off it slightly as chilly in places that were away from the burner like the bathroom and getting up in the mornings, but you can't magic a plumber at New Year !! We worked closely with the owners who were absolutely 100% fantastic and couldn't have done more for us with Prosecco, Chocolate and offer of a free night ( couldn't take sadly as back to work the next day) We had a lovely stay though and the sausages from the Farm shop were the best we have ever had and wished the shop had been open when we left to bring home more but it was a bank holiday. The whole area for visiting was great and highly recommend the Shrewsbury Prison tour and Shrewsbury itself and Attingham Park to see the deer and house and the Severn Valley Railway. We will return in the summer when we can appreciate the sun through the large windows and sitting outside having a drink and BBQ Very Highly Recommend

Being able to put an order in with the farm shop prior to arrival was a great touch. It allowed us to not worry about dinner or breakfast for our first day and morning. It is such a beautiful place and the view over the fields is stunning. The conversion is so well done and the light and space really lovely. The farm shop next door is wonderful and the children made frequent trips to by ice cream. There are lots of great local days out, we went to Chester, Shrewsbury, Attingham Park, Hoos Farm Zoo, the steam train from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster. It was a relaxing and special week and we would recommend the Tractor Shed highly. A couple of small things would have made it even better. In previous cottages there has been a cake or fresh bread left for us on arrival. After a 5 hour drive that would have been a welcome sight. Some washing machine tablets, extra loo rolls, and a clothes airer would have been helpful. But they are just little niggles and didn't spoil anything.

Had a wonderful week. The owners have put their all into this barn. Beautifully crafted and furnished. Lots of little decorative touches to admire. II know this is probably down to personal taste, but we found the huge, gorgeous bed sooo comfortable; it was hard to leave it in the mornings! The way the barn is set up, you feel together all the time. A perfect, romantic getaway. There is a farm shop on site, so perfect for cooked brunch. Yum! However, you aren’t aware of it being there, so it doesn’t disturb your peace, nor the other holiday cottage. It’s a perfect place for visiting National Trust places & we discovered that Wollerton Hall gardens is just down the road, if only we’d come at the right time of year. A good reason to return! 1) Toilet seat was broken, they said that they would replace it, but it never got done. 2) The cold water tap on the bath was broken, and the toilet pull chain was also broken. 3) The railings on the patio fencing.......the sheep that were in the field kept rubbing their bodies on the fence and the iron railings kept coming out. The rail would be banging onto the property, this was not such a problem during the day but at 4.am every morning was not so good. The sheep them were able to get onto our patio and very kindly leaving their droppings. 4) The adjacent patio .....there was no fencing to the adjacent property let so the sheep would congregate on the patio in numbers, again leaving their droppings. The down stairs bedroom window was next to this and as you can imagine the smell was very bad. It didn't get cleaned up by the owners. We were unable to leave the window open. 5) There was no dishwasher in the property and when we went to use a glass there was still some lipstick on it, also some dishes had grease on them, we had to clean some items before using them. 6) In the information booklet at the property it said there was a barbeque and patio furniture.....all that we had was a bench which we had to use to block the fence so the sheep could not get through.

We stayed here for two nights (4 adults and 1 small child) and wish I had booked for longer. The Tractor Shed is a beautiful barn conversation - exactly as described on Sykes Cottages. We really felt at home in the barn with comfortable furniture, amazing decor (I now want to decorate my whole house) and fabulous facilities. The stand alone bath was a real luxury before getting cosy on the sofa to watch a movie (we took our amazon box to connect to the tv to stream Netflix). There were also plenty of books to read in the gorgeous cabinet and many different board games and puzzles. The kitchen was one of my favourite parts of the barn with everything you could possibly need. We had two cooked breakfasts (amazing bacon and sausages from Maynard’s farmshop run by Fiona & Rob) and a full roast dinner. We found amazing fresh vegetables in a local farm shop about half a mile down the road and it was honestly the best roast dinner we’ve ever made. We had plenty of visits from Maisey the dog who was so friendly we were sad to say goodbye - especially my one year old niece. The Tractor Shed is a perfect getaway if you’re looking to relax. There is so much to do if you have a car to go exploring, with lots of local walks, bike routes and plenty of castles/parks/houses to see. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone without a car as there is no footpath on the main road. Check out was supposed to be 10am but we were told that morning we could stay for the rest of the day as there were no other gusts arriving that day which was very generous. I’d rate the whole stay 10/10 and will definitely be back. It made my 30th Birthday a wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to go back.

The décor was gorgeous and the attention to detail was amazing. We came with our two young boys who loved the sheep out front, the fancy dress box and the board games. It had everything we needed and felt luxurious and homely.
