Each of the two bedrooms had about 6 hangers that were all mismatched and had come free with clothing purchases or dry-cleaning. You can get sets of tubular plastic hangers very inexpensively at Home Bargains, Wilco, Poundland etc. Why make the place look cheap? There was opened food left by previous visitors in the cupboards that should have been thrown away and the kitchen cabinets, floor and dishes needed a good clean as they all seemed to have a greasy coating on them. Although there was a dryer provided it was in the cellar which was not inviting. A washer/dryer in the kitchen would have been nicer for guests as the cellar was both damp and dirty. Bathroom was really clean and there was a nice clean smell from the fresh linen on the beds.

About the location

ALMONDBURY

Huddersfield 3 miles; Holmfirth 6 miles.

The traditional West Riding village of Almondbury is situated just 3 miles to the south east of Huddersfield in the south Pennines. The village is steeped in history and still retains several notable buildings including the 16th century Wormald's Hall, now the village Conservative club, and All Hallows Church; Almondbury even appeared in the Domesday Book. Nearby Holmfirth will be remembered by most as being the home of Compo, Cleggy and Nora Batty, from the long running comedy series 'Last of the Summer Wine', whilst the nearby Colne Valley is home to fictional 'Skelthwaite' from the successful TV series 'Where The Heart Is'. Within easy reach of the northern Peak District, and the southern Dales, Almondbury is well situated to offer beautiful countryside and great walking opportunities, or alternatively, an hour's drive could take you to the historic city of York, elegant Harrogate, or vibrant Leeds. This traditional village is well situated for a variety of activities, suitable for all tastes.
