    Mr Lee

“The property is a lovely two up two down terrace, it was lovely and clean, the kitchen was very well equipped.”

Parking was free and close by. ...

Parking was free and close by. I would go back and recommend but my dad 80 years old really struggled on the stairs as they are very steep, with only a single rail and I had to lift the rug in the bedroom as it just slid across the floor when you put your foot down, the wooden floors seemed to be highly polished making them slippy to all. The property decor is pleasant but slightly out dated. I would expect TV’s in the bedrooms in most places now. Not related to property but did effect are experience. When we arrived there was a lady in the property and a plumber in the bathroom for the first 20 mins, so slightly arkward........ and the most annoying thing was being texted by Skyes at 6AM in the morning to tell us about a coat a previous tenant had left in the hall, way to go to spoil a holiday lie in..... Cheers

About the location

Huddersfield 3 miles; Holmfirth 6 miles.

The traditional West Riding village of Almondbury is situated just 3 miles to the south east of Huddersfield in the south Pennines. The village is steeped in history and still retains several notable buildings including the 16th century Wormald's Hall, now the village Conservative club, and All Hallows Church; Almondbury even appeared in the Domesday Book. Nearby Holmfirth will be remembered by most as being the home of Compo, Cleggy and Nora Batty, from the long running comedy series 'Last of the Summer Wine', whilst the nearby Colne Valley is home to fictional 'Skelthwaite' from the successful TV series 'Where The Heart Is'. Within easy reach of the northern Peak District, and the southern Dales, Almondbury is well situated to offer beautiful countryside and great walking opportunities, or alternatively, an hour's drive could take you to the historic city of York, elegant Harrogate, or vibrant Leeds. This traditional village is well situated for a variety of activities, suitable for all tastes.
