  • "Upon arrival the property was clean, fresh sheets and towels on all beds, and fully furnished set out ready for a lovely stay."

The beds were comfy, shower and bath worked well and the hot tub was delightful. What made our stay was the great communication and friendly nature of the host. They were responsive to any queries and very informative. I would have no hesitation in returning and staying here again.

Thank you for your feedback. Hope to see you again in the future Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at Ardsley Cottage and was wowed at it's beautiful location and facilities."

The wrap around gardens were beautiful and well kept and were well used along with the great hot tub! Great space in and out to accommodate the 6 of us. Nicely decorated and furnished . Great response from owners when we had a problem that was quickly resolved. I loved that the vacuum cleaner was accessible so we could keep on top of things with pegs, dishwasher tablets/liquid soap also provided. Great area to explore, Dovedale, Alton towers, Tissington bike trail and Matlock bath and a local Maize Maze too were enjoyed by both young and old! Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • "The property was just as in the photos, our holiday was amazing and none of us wanted to leave."

The only things I would point out are minor, it would have been good to have extra plates or serving plates, with 6 adults there were no spares. Places to hang towels to dry (from hot tub use) would have been easier. Again with 6 adults the airer wasn't really enough. With regard to the hot tub, a couple of chairs for people not in the tub would have been more comfortable than the grass

  • "Perfect little getaway!"

Beautiful location, clean home and great facilities. We booked this place as a last resort due to being let down with the previous property, but we were not disappointed with the outcome. Ardsley Cottage turned out to be a much better option. The kitchen has all the things you would need (a few more cleaning supplies would be handy), with a dining room attached where you can sit round a lovely big table to enjoy a meal together. Moving into the spacious living room, you find big comfy sofas to sit and relax in, along with a smart TV. Upstairs there were 3 bedrooms set up with bath and hand towels for each guest and 3 laundry bags to pack away bedding at check out. The large bathroom was great for showers or baths (bathroom lock wasn't working). Finally leaving the best till last ... the GARDEN. Incredible scenery surrounding the house with the added bonus of the hot tub (with British weather, it could do with a gazebo of sorts to provide shelter from strong winds or rain). Highly recommend this property!!

  • "Lovely cottage for a family holiday - good quiet location with easy access to local pub (less than a mile), shops (between 5-7 miles) and Alton Towers (30 minute drive)."

Top tip - Sainsbury’s deliver to the cottage - we checked in at 6pm and our shopping was there an hour later. Great communication from the hosts - very responsive and gave good advice/tips. Milk and fresh eggs left in the fridge. Very clean and tidy with a lot of reassurance around COVID-19 - AA certificate Some lovely local walks around the villages.

About the location

ASHBOURNE

Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th century, the town was a fashionable social centre and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by. Alton Towers is just 20 minutes away.
