Comfy bed, well stocked kitchen, netflix on the tv, masses of information regarding walks and things to do. Easy access to the town (which is stunning) with loads of restaurants, shops etc. Beautiful walks straight from the house. Chatsworth was a real hightlight. Busy road and parking could be tricky sometimes, both of which we new beforehand. We would definitely recommend and hope to return.

The parking wasn’t an issue at all once you’ve worked out where you could park. It is a tiny problem but you are so central to Bakewell itself you can’t possibly grumble. The owners left a lovely welcome package including flowers, milk, bread and even a bottle of ‘fizz’ which is so very thoughtful. I would recommend this lovely place and can’t wait to return very soon.

Kitchen really well equipped. Welcome package very 'welcome' with bread, milk, biscuits and wine! and even flowers. We were anxious about parking, but found a short term 2 hour space, and were able to move later in the evening to a space in the B zone. (Monday is market day, so that may have made it more tricky) - the rest of the week we found parking no problem.

Nice touches in the welcome pack and the Christmas decorations which got our pre-Christmas break off to a festive start. Bakewell and surrounding area is lovely. Lots of cafes, pubs, restaurants and walks (our dog had a great time) all within easy reach of the cottage. There is a bit of traffic noise in the day but we were out for majority of time so not really a problem and stops significantly at about 7pm and throughout the night but does start again in the morning. Arrival is a bit tricky due to the road and traffic but we chose to park (a parking permit is provided) and carry our belongings in which if you park temporarily on the road behind the church near the slip road is not far and then we just moved the car to a better parking spot. Would thoroughly recommend staying in this cottage and would definitely stay again

  • "The cottage was very clean and neutrally decorated with plenty of good quality bed linen and towels."

The welcome pack was very generous that included essentials like bread and milk but also Prosecco and chocolates! A few more hooks on bedroom doors would be useful, especially in the two bedrooms that don't have a wardrobe. The unloading was stressful as we arrived at rush hour and there was no way we could have parked outside the cottage. The parking was tricky too, with the main spaces on a busy hill and with not many available spaces. The location of the cottage was perfect though with such a short walk into town and to attractions such as Haddon Hall. Overall a lovely stay.

Thank you for your feedback and kind comments. I am sorry you had difficulties with parking. The area does get busy during peak times as it is in a central location but there is normally always a space nearby within a minute's walk away. We do provide a very large wardrobe in the main bedroom to compensate for less space in the other rooms but have taken on board your comments about the hooks. I am glad you enjoyed your stay overall. • "The cottage."

..We had high hopes from the listing & other reviews. We received a 'welcome' email a couple of days before our holiday that gave us info on unloading / parking. On the Friday another email arrived as we were on our way to tell us the cottage was ready. As other reviews mention, the welcome pack is superb. The cottage was clean, comfortable, warm & beautifully decorated/ furnished. Parking - unloading was a bit stressful, but that was because it was school finishing time & there are a lot of buses on the road. Once we had luggage/ dog sorted, we moved the car & didn't have any issues getting a space the rest of the week. Bakewell - a lovely town. Pubs/cafes/shops all easy to walk to. We enjoyed the market on the Monday. The Monsal trail is nearby & walking by the river in the park was so enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed our week & wouldn't hesitate to return.
