  • "Karen has obviously taken great pride and joy in making The Studio such a great place to stay evidenced by all the tasteful decorating and many extra touches above and beyond what you might expect in a holiday let."

Also felt secure with easy communication with Karen and plentiful information about The Studio and Bakewell and the surrounding area.

Thank you Bridget for your lovely feedback. I’m glad you had another enjoyable stay in The Studio and you managed to complete your walks. Property Owner

  • "Had a really happy stay at the Studio for our NYE weekend."

We usually stay in hotels but fancied something a little cosier and wanted to help a small business instead. The owner, Karen, gave excellent communication before and throughout our trip and nothing was too much trouble for her. She provided thorough instructions on how to get the most out of our stay and ensured we were kept warm and comfortable. The Studio has to be the best place we have ever stayed in terms of the amenities and add ons provided. For example, the box of "in case you had forgotten" items in the bathroom and the complementary new years prosecco were lovely touches that you don't see very often. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, with extra linen and bedding available if needed. The Studio had a bee theme throughout which I thought was tasteful and the colours tied in really well. Overall we had a lovely stay and will recommend the place to anyone.

Hello Lauren Thank you so much for your very lovely and detailed review and supporting a small business . Im very pleased you were delighted with your stay and had a happy New Year in my Studio. It was a pleasure to host you and your partner and I hope to welcome you back if you choose Bakewell as your destination again. Property Owner

  • "The Studio is an excellent property, in very good condition, clean, comfortable and well equipped."

Ideal for those who like to be very close to town centre amenities yet once inside the courtyard it feels like being in a quiet, remote place. However the big problem is car parking and extremely narrow streets, you get a permit but the demand in the area from residents and visitors is such that you can rarely find a space within the locality and have to park some considerable distance away.

  • "What a gem of a Studio apartment, right in center of Bakewell but not noisy at night."

It was everything we needed to have a good week. Karen left a number of little treats which were gratefully received, thank you. Bakewell is served by a number of bus routes which all have stopping point within a 5 minute walk, so we were able to not use car for the whole week.

  • "The Studio is absolutely perfect for a short break (mine was four nights), very comfortable, cosy and well-equipped."

Perhaps not for someone wanting to do any ambitious cooking, but, being right in the centre of Bakewell (not intrusive), it could not have been better placed for local restaurants (Piedaniel's much recommended), cafes, coffee shops, pubs and public transport. Lovely touches in the accommodation - welcome card and small gift and emergency toiletries for the forgetful - and solicitous and kind help to ensure parking and being well-settled. Lovely, private outside area. I would have no hesitation in staying again.

The property is very well thought out and was a lovely change to just having just a bedroom in a hotel or B & B. We walked into town every morning with an abundance of cafes serving breakfast. So many pubs and restaurants to choose from. We were definitely spoilt for choice. I would highly recommend this property for having your own space, very well equipped and modern. Our only concern was that we had assumed the studio was all on one level, as it is ground floor only. However, there is a step at the entrance and another one from the bedroom down to the kitchen / bathroom. So for anyone elderly / with mobility issues this may not be ideal.

Very clean and all you need for a week's break. It's very secure. Right in the heart of Bakewell, right above a very busy roundabout, but that doesn't impact on the accommodation, which is very quiet. Only a minor irritation-Velux windows difficult to open & the shower could do with a shelf for your shower gel. Overall, a lovely place. Nice courtyard garden, and we were very lucky with the weather for walking. Lots of great Dale walks within 20-30 minutes drive.
