  • "The lodge was clean and tidy , lots of things provided for us to use."

There was a gift of cake, milk and biscuits, what lovely welcoming touch. The owners who live on site welcomed us, then respected our space, but was on call if needed. It couldn’t have been better for us just what we needed. Within reach of Shrewsbury and surrounding towns etc.

Thank you for such a lovely review! We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay here at Mayfields Lodge. Property Owner

The Lodge is extremely well equipped and had everything we could have asked for - with a brilliant shower (one of my key criteria when staying somewhere!!). Jo, Paul & Josh were excellent hosts and were happy to listen to my reminiscing about my childhood on the farm. Great places to eat locally, The Tilley Raven, Bull & Dog and Dickin Arms at Loppington - you will be spoilt for choice. A couple of days out at Attingham Park and Powis Castle added to the enjoyment of the break A fantastic week that we would thoroughly recommend for getting away from it all, unwinding and refreshing the batteries.

It had everything we required and we were really pleased. It's very near to Wem and easily commutable in to Shrewsbury and Telford. Because of its good position, it's easy to get out and about to nearby attractions. Our son is almost 5 and he loved the days out at Hoo Farm zoo in Telford and Park Hall which was also fun and interesting. We have previously been to the area and visited Wonderland in Telford, which he also thoroughly enjoyed and we have had great walks at Attingham Park. Overall there's loads to do in the whole area, nice towns to visit, great scenery and a relaxed feel.

The kitchen is EXTREMELY well equipped (perhaps better than the one at home!), even going as far as cheese graters, pots, pans, utensils, jugs etc. The beds were really comfortable and the smart TV and games in the living room supplied us with a lot of laughs & entertainment.
