The design of the property is perfect, every facility we needed was provided and is of a high quality, and everything is kept spotlessly clean. The 2nd time was equally as wonderful as the first. The cottage is beyond 1st rate and while we were at the cottage, I received an email from Sykes, to say they had awarded Hazel Cottage, a Gold Medal. This is so richly deserved and if Sykes had award 5 Gold Medals, it would still have been richly deserved. The cottage goes above and beyond any expectations and when you arrive it is like being given a hug in a home. The standard of cleanliness, decoration, the underfloor heating throughout, the wonderful comfortable bed, Netflix and every appliance you could wish for and the gorgeous modern bathroom. with bath and double shower, has to be seen and experienced. Added to that a superb folder of appliance instructions and telephone numbers of Drs. etc and guides as to where to eat. In addition to that, the incredibly warm welcome received from Vickie and Nick and you wonder why you would need to holiday anywhere else. Vickie and Nick are on hand if you want or need them, but they equally leave you alone to enjoy your stay with them. Vickie came around just before we left and it's like having to say goodbye to a lovely friend. Thank you for the Prosecco, in the ice bucket for our arrival along with tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. The gardens have to be seen to appreciate the size of them, along with the lovely Arctic Lodge, in the grounds, for use by the guests. We spent many an evening sitting on the bench at the end of the very long gardens, just looking over the Dales. Try out "The Blackboy Pub", only a 5 mins walk down the road. Again so friendly and serves wonderful food. Many thanks for everything, Vickie & Nick. We will undoubtedly be back. Celia & Mike McArdle. Bexhill-On-Sea. September 2019

We were told that the owners had gone away for the weekend but when they got back they would come and introduce themselves. The cottage itself excelled our expectations. It was well equipped, nothing had been forgotten. The attention to detail by the owners was to a VERY high standard. When we arrived there was a bottle of prosecco, a pint of milk, and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. In the bath room there was also some shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The cottage itself was warm, cosy and homely. The grounds were also very beautiful. There is a lot of wildlife, we enjoyed watching the array of birds that visit on a morning and the cheeky squirrel that sits watching you. We had a lovely holiday, sadly though we were VERY disappointed that on the owners return on the sunday evening NO effort was made to come and see us to see if everything was ok on any of the days leading up to our departure. We read the visitors book and everyone had wrote how much of a warm welcome they had from owners, SADLY we NEVER experienced this and we felt LET down and felt extremely dismayed and inconsolable. For this reason despite the cottage being so lovely we sadly would NOT return.

The accuracy with regard to the description of the Cottage was completely spot on. The Cottage was second to none with everything we could have wanted. We were given a wonderful welcome by the owner and then left completely alone to enjoy our holiday. We could telephone the owner if we wanted anything or was not sure how to work something although all things were explained in our welcome and also there was a folder with all instruction leaflets in. We couldn't work out how to work the Nexflix so we telephoned and the owner was around within 5 mins to show us again. Sykes as a company could not do or send us more information. We were kept up to date between booking out holiday and going on holiday with several emails and they are more than happy to take a phone call for sort out our booking as we prefer not to book via the email booking system. We arrived back from our Holiday on the Friday and on Saturday morning I was on the phone booking a return visit. As it happened I spoke to the same lady (Alex) as when I had booked previously. Very friendly and efficient service is added to by receiving an email of my booking before I finished my phone call. That is what I call service. Thank you all.
