The drinking water tap, runs quite warm for some time before the cold water comes through. Other wise very comfy and well equipped

  • "We loved this bungalow annex,it's perfect for 2."

We only booked 4 nights as it was near to relatives we wanted to visit, but would loved to have stayed longer. It is immaculately clean and tidy with everything you could want for a self catering holiday. The owners are next door, and are really friendly and helpful without being intrusive and because it's a working sheep farm you had lovely views across the fields of the sheep enjoying the sunshine. Also had the pleasure of watching 2 stags and a few female deer grazing, and on our last evening one of them had her fawn with her

  • "We had a lovely week at Heatherdale cottage."

The owners were very friendly and we had lovely little chats with them. The cottage has everything you need, was spotlessly clean, and the views are absolutely stunning! Lots to see and do around the area too, and only 30 min walk to Lyme National Trust property. Daily 'chats' to the sheep, and lovely to see some Deer from the estate most days. Overall excellent week!

  • "We had the most relaxing, enjoyable 5 day stay at Heatherdale farm cottage."

Ann and John were very friendly and helpful. The cottage had everything we needed. It's in the centre of lots of things to see and do with magnificent views from the bedroom. Great shower, off street parking, comfy bed and a washing machine with the use of a clothes line. Lots of walking trails, one is to Lyme Park about a mile away. Thanks Ann and John.

About the location

Macclesfield 4 miles; Buxton 13 miles; Manchester 20 miles.

Where the Cheshire plains meet the peaks in the “Happy Valley” sits the delightful town of Bollington. With a rich heritage in the cotton spinning industry, there’s still plenty of surviving mills and a network of canals. Standing high above the town on Kerridge Hill is the landmark of “White Nancy” built in 1817 to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Waterloo. Today the town is a thriving community within the Manchester commuter belt resulting in a very bohemian atmosphere. Unlike most places, there are still plenty of busy pubs and a bounty of eateries, bars and cafés. It’s a very short hop to the bustling city of Manchester or the majesty and breathtaking beauty of the Peak District National Park.
