  • "What a smashing cottage, with everything we could possibly need provided."

Very comfy and welcoming. We had a couple of minor issues, but I was lucky enough to run into Oliver (who does the maintenance) and he sorted them out straight away. It would be helpful to have some instructions on how to get the telly working, though. Our only complaint!

  • "Fabulous place, really well kept and in a perfect location for us for walking."

Loved the velux windows and quirky layout of the cottage itself. The only small negative was the lack of Wifi throughout the cottage, had to go to the front door, or upstairs to access it. Apart from that, can't really fault anything and we would definitely come back

  • "Had a 2 night stay for 6."

Cottage was just as described and pictures do not do it justice. Plenty of space and beautifully laid out. Fully equipped. The cottage is just as beautiful on the outside, located in a quiet area. Ideal location for travelling to nearby villages or walks in the Peak District. Only downside was the bed was too soft but that’s a personal preference. Would definitely recommend and would certainly come back.

  • "We've had the pleasure of staying in 3 different cottages at The Old Sawmill, which are all of exceptional quality."

Willow Cottage was the largest that we stayed in, but all are well designed & built, beautifully decorated, warm, well equipped, and very clean & comfortable. They are situated in a wonderfully peaceful location, with fantastic walks right on the doorstep. The owners can be contacted with ease and respond quickly and professionally should you have any issues. It's the perfect place in which to unwind and/or enjoy the great outdoors!

We were very pleased to see there was a dog wash outside the property - I think it would be good to add it to the cottage details A number of people have mentioned the lack of a mirror in the bedrooms to dry your hair but there are still no mirrors - all that is needed is a free standing one Loved the property - quiet and secure - lovely dog walks from the door

In an area which is really amazing. We enjoyed our stay very much and will keep this in mind when we visit our family in Sheffield again. You can make long walks in the area. We had a very nice stay. Thank you.

  • "Excellent stay."

Property perfect for our reason to visit. Very comfortable. Loved having lots of equipment. Only two things that would make the stay even better - bigger mugs for the English Tea lovers. The use of black out blinds in the bed rooms (especially the one next to the bathroom) would help keep the light out on the gorgeous bright mornings. Otherwise absolutely nothing else we would ask for! Thank you for an incredible stay!

  • "The cottage is beautifully set out for family with ample space for dining and relaxing."

I noted from the Visitors Book that any comments had been taken into account as there was a second fridge/freezer (useful for drinks) in the kitchen. Beautiful decor, some games and books - altogether we had a lovely New Year stay with our daughter and family with fabulous walks literally from the gate.

  • "This is such a little gem."

It's a renovated cottage in a secure location amongst other cottages. You have everything you need here. 3 bedrooms, plenty of linen and towels, a nice kitchen and a dining area. There is also a smart TV. The location is good, it's about 10 mins away from Stocksbridge which has everything. I got a taxi back from Sheffield town in an uber for about £35. Couple of tips for the next person: - dont have the shower on maximum flow in the shower , you will run out of hot water. Turn to maybe half way. - the Internet speed is poor. I used a spare phone as a wireless repeater and it was perfect. I could work and Netflix would stream fine.

  • "Lovely accommodation & location."

It would be helpful to have a mirror located near a plug point to help when drying hair! We had to take long mirror off the wall and then sit on the floor to use the plug point in the corner next to chest of drawers. Kitchen well resourced with good equipment. Only thing I’d do is change the door on separate fridge freezer to open in opposite way, so hinges on left rather than right, to make it easier to access. Comfortable, relaxing location with fabulous walks within moments of going out of the gate.

Beautiful ,clean and more spacious than photos show . The bunk beds were too small for our teens but that was my fault bunks would be great for younger kids under 12 . Fab bbq/fire pit .Although no private garden this never felt an issue and was very peaceful . The cottages are all stunning and well maintained . Lovely walks around nearby reservoirs.

  • "We have just returned from a fantastic week in Willow Cottage, Bolsterstone."

The cottage is a perfect ‘home away from home’ and has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The surrounding area is just beautiful too and we found some wonderful walks each day: Longshaw Estate, Padley Gorge, Derwent Reservoir, Hathersage Stepping Stones, Stanage Edge, Middle Black Clough Waterfalls, and not forgetting the two reservoirs either side of the cottage. We would definitely come back! Thank you for a brilliant stay.

  • "Property direction needs to be improved,a clear sign outside the property helps."

We are letirally looking for WILLOW COTTAGE which is a property name inside OLD SAWMILL HOUSE.Which is a bit confusing because all the neighbouring properties got individual cottage names. The front door lock was already mentioned by the previous customer occupying the property by writing it in the maintenance log book a day before we arrived but NOT sorted..Blinds in the small room with bonk bed not working.Which makes me worried because of the 300 pounds GOOD HOUSEKEEPING BOND mentioned during booking. We want to have a nice holiday without worrying of the extra charges and i am sure everyone is with me about it..Sort things out or tell your customer before they sit foot in the property. A vaccum cleaner will help too and wifi very slow. I would like to thank the owner for the bottle of prosseco. Overall, the property location and area is very nice. Great place to stay when competing at Ponds Forge International Swimming Arena. 25 minutes drive.

  • "Fantastic Cottage with everything you could want/need."

Very clean and neat. Beds are extremely comfortable! Lovely location with great walks from the cottage. Although we didn’t take our bikes on this occasion, the bike storage would be an extremely helpful bonus. Just to note that you can’t see the ‘waterfall’ or the water from the cottage but you can hear it. And there isn’t any garden space but there is outside seating. Very good amenities in this lovely cottage. Would definitely recommend.

  • "We had the most wonderful time and met the owners, who were very friendly and accommodating ."

Not by way of criticism, but rather a practical suggestion. As we were a family, with children, we would have benefited by having a larger fridge. Also, a more substantial vacuumed cleaner could be considered, especially for keeping on top of having a fury friend staying. All in all, a great place to stay and we are already considering a return visit. Thank you!!
