  • "Other than the slightly amusing dymo label notes everywhere, this was one of the best holiday properties I've stayed at in 25 years."

Really nice and spacious and worked out perfectly for us with grandparents and a 2 year old. Lovely property with great facilities and had everything we needed. The only downside was lack of local takeaways combined with the opening hours of the pubs and village bakery being quite limited.

  • "A choice of a lower tog duvet would have been appreciated."

A clothes hook on the back of the shower room door and a cutlery drainer with the dish drainer are two small additions which would add to practical comfort. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

Thankyou for your valuable feedback. Most of my guests find the mid warm duvets in winter are comfortable, sorry you wanted a choice of lower summertime tog duvets. We find most guests use the dishwasher cutlery holder, but will look in to this. I can confirm that I have installed a clothes hook at the back of the shower room door. My error, sorry. I am glad you found everything else excellent. Thanks again for your feedback. Property Owner

Summer duvets could have been provided. Could have provided some fold up comfy chairs/loungers to sit on when we got back from walking, the chairs provided were very uncomfortable and Wet!

Thank you for your valuable feedback. I have had a new shower head holder fitted on one shower the other shower the plumber could not find any problem. The weather is so changable we find guests Iike mid warm duvets and had no complaints until now. We do not supply loungers and sorry the rain wet the patio furniture and made it uncomfortable, we do find guests enjoy the conservatory or the seating in the outside undercover area if the weather is inclement. With 3 shops and 3 pubs in walking distance you can park the car for your stay. There are also several walks directly from the bungalow including short circular ones as well as longer ones for the more active holiday makers/

The lovely Rozel Cottage contradicts this however, as it IS perfect. Our second visit and the requested champagne glasses were there. Quality bed linen and towels, and an immaculately clean house which was always lovely and warm in a very cold week, plus up to date furnishings and three modern bathrooms, made our stay once again, very comfortable. Out of the house, down the lane opposite the house to the river and left turn to Lathkill Dale, or right turn to Alport and Bradford Dale, or straight over the medieval bridge and on to Haddon Hall meant we didn’t even have to use our car for four days out of seven. We were loathe to leave. Mrs K.

Other than those few things the house was immaculate, very warm, very clean and we had a fantastic chilling week despite the atrocious weather. Beautiful part of the country and we will be back sometime in the future

Thank you for your great and honest review. What awful weather you had. The aftermath of Storm Arwen did cause problems. I have had the damage fixed now and hopeful will not get a storm like that again! Unfortunately, we found empty beer cans in the gutters and downpipes that caused the water to backup. I am so glad you thought it was immaculate, very warm and clean and will be back sometime in the future (the atrocious weather did not put you off!). It was extremely comfortable and in the perfect location we feel sure we will return. Our only comment would be all the little notes on doors, cupboards etc as we are able to work out how to open doors and locate items like the fridge etc, all these notes took away the home from home experience i imagine the owners are looking for. This was our only negative comment and we hope not to cause offence.

I am sorry you didn’t like the little labels. I try and make our guests stay as easy and enjoyable as possible and find most people appreciate the labels and had favourable reviews. Lots of suitable space for dirty boots, etc and everything was very new. Spare towels and sheets provided for second week which was very appreciated. Third bedroom is very small and accessed via restricted headroom so really only suitable for children but it didn't bother us too much as we had the bonus of a last minute (adult) daughter on our trip. Only downside was that we just could not work out how to turn off the upstairs towel rail - it made the well-insulated bedroom too hot for a summer night!

Thankyou for your honest review. I am so pleased you found it an excellent, very clean property and looked like new. The 3rd bedroom is a bunk bedroom. We thought it would be great for any of the guests’ children. Adults do stop in the bunk bedroom and have had no problems. Regarding the upstairs bathroom there is also a radiator behind the bathroom door that is linked with the towel rail that may have needed turning down also. All our radiators have thermostat valves so you can regulate the heat. Please do stop with us again Property Owner

The bungalow was well placed on the edge of the village, but a short walk took you to the nearest pub and other village facilities. The bungalow is spacious, beautifully furnished with a very high specification. The beds were comfortable with crisp cotton sheets and the showers were hot and there was always plenty of hot water. The bungalow was very well placed for walkers, with paths in all directions from the door. There is a lovely big porch at the front entrance so boots and coats can be left out of the way. We were lucky with the weather and we were able to enjoy all our lunches on the sunny patio, but the conservatory would have been lovely if the weather had been colder. The owners ensured that we knew how things worked by providing full instructions for appliances and switches and plugs were clearly labelled. The bungalow is tardis like, with very generous sized rooms and would easily accommodate two families of two adults and two children (when we are able to do that again).
