Would be better if the listing stated Bessie Lane as opposed to The Hills.
The white goods could do with an upgrade (though trivial, it's difficult to turn the temperature dial on the oven if you have issues with your arm as I do, the fridge/freezer opened on the wrong side and one of the shelves is broken [a smaller one would also take up less room]).
The provisions provided on arrival was a lovely touch.
Shame one of the windows in the living area was frosted glass and didn't open (however I am sure there is a reason for this).
Kitchen utensil/crockery etc. is the best we have seen/used in a cottage, and the layout is well thought-out.
The cottage was not cluttered with bits and pieces which improved the whole aesthetics of the living areas (the AA book we found in one of the cupboards was particularly useful).
The garden area is tiny (though didn't bother us as it was too wet and windy to sit outside), what would be useful though, is a free standing boot brush/scraper.
Bradwell is a pretty little village with all the amenities you need and well worth a visit, a good base to visit the High Peaks.

"The Old Coach House is a very well quipped cottage in an extremely quiet location."
It is very cosy to stay in on wet days and everything is provided to give it a home from home feel. Thank you to the owners for the provisions, they were most welcome. The owners were very helpful.

"Regretfully, I must raise a complaint about our stay."
The condition of the property was satisfactory. I would, however, take issue with the 'patio with furniture'. It was just a small space on the short path to the front door, and no patio as I know it. Still, that was a minor point. The toilet did not flush properly. The flush was too brief to flush everything away. Admittedly, it did flush properly sometimes, still, on those occasions the flush was still not strong enough to flush everything.
I raised this with the owners and a gentleman did attend to the problem. He conceded it was an issue and said that he would ask a plumber to look at it - he added that he did not know when the plumber would be available. In the end, the plumber was due to attend the day after we left. The owner provided us with a bucket to flush the toilet. I subsequently raised this as a complaint but was informed that nothing could be done. In summary, we paid good money to stay in a property with a faulty toilet - one which we had to flush ourselves with a bucket. We are a family of four with two children, so this was a very unpleasant issue to deal with.
I fully appreciate this was unforeseeable and I have not personal animosity towards the owners, they seemed amiable enough, but this situation was unacceptable and I would like to raise it as a formal complaint. I find if hard to believe that it was not possible to find a plumber to attend at short notice. Needless to say, we will not be using Sykes Cottages again. I would like to escalate this matter and look forward to a response.

"This property had everything we needed."
We used as a base and out everyday but would have been fine to stay in the accommodation all day.Facilities were great,and everything was to hand-full working kitchen,washing,drying.

"Everything about this cottage was great."
Loved the location. Beautiful village. Only suggestion is to include Bessie Lane in location. The location and postcode given was accurate but there were 30 cottages there. Took us a little while to find it.

"Ideal location for lots of walking and visiting a variety of different places and things to do (age range 22 - 64)."
Kitchen equipment could have been better, only real basics supplied. Bathroom extractor fan seems to have a mind of its own, and several of the radiators never came on. Would be helpful to have appliance instruction booklets especially washing machine as tumble dryer facility definitely didn't work as expected. Visitors comment book would be good along with some clocks, especially upstairs. Bradwell village had everything we wanted, and Derbyshire did not disappoint.

One window in the living area no clear glass. Table in the kitchen gives no freedom for your legs.
