Clean, cosy and well-thought-out. For example, the bottle of wine and milk was much appreciated. We spent 3 nights on a hiking visit. The boot room idea, (under the stairs) is brilliant. There are magnificent views in and around the village. Would definitely recommend!

We love the cottage and the surroundings. The only reason we have not scored all 5s is because of the shower tray which makes it very difficult not to end up with water all over the floor and very wet towels. We are already looking at dates for next year and would highly recommend this cottage for a quiet location, yet 3 pubs and lovely walks on your door step.

The little touches shows the owners really care. The location is excellent for exploring the Peak District and a short walk brings you to a range of shops. ( A shame both the chip shop and bakers were closed for renovations but the pub at the bottom of the hill did its best to make up.)

So handy for lots of places to visit so close by, the caverns, lovely villages, beautiful area. Cottage was well equipped, owners friendly and helpful. Great to be able to walk into the village for a few good pubs for meals and a great chippy! We didn’t have any issues parking, just parked down the lane or on the main road. Love the patio and views from the back garden. The week just went too fast!

  • "Lovely cottage in a pretty area with very good local amenities."

Cottage was clean and tidy, only slight drawback was the seating in the living room which was quite tight for 2 adults sitting together on the sofa. Perhaps an additional single chair (for which there is plenty of space) would be a good idea. A tray or two in the kitchen would be good too, but a minor point! The outdoor patios were lovely during our stay as we were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed a BBQ - although due to local restrictions on the sale of picnic BBQs you may need to travel out of the area or bring your own to use in the BBQ stand provided. As has been said before, parking can be quite tight and steep, but we were aware of this before booking. Beds, shower, and cooking facilities were all good and the bottle of wine in the fridge was much appreciated!

Lovely cottage , well equipped, clean and comfortable with a gorgeous backdrop from the garden. Ideal village location for Great walking either from the door or within ten minutes drive. Hope, Castleton, Mam Tor, Monsal Dale all easy to reach. Good co- op and fish and chip shop.Fresh eggs daily from cottage opposite. Only one of the three pubs had just opened but understandable given no inside drinking and eating allowed yet. Great beer garden at the Old Bowling Green and fire pits of an evening. Great weather too which was a complete bonus. We parked in the next lane no problem, would definitely recommend Lees cottage and Bradwell.

The owners kindly left some goodies for us and a lovely vase of daffodils which was very much appreciated. The cupboard under the stairs with its heater was a godsend as we got very muddy out on our walks and had to rinse a few things through at the end of the day. The only thing missing, that would have made things easier was a washing machine but can appreciate that room is tight in the kitchen. Parking was a bit of an issue as we had two late nights out and couldn't find a space in the village on our return so had to park down on the main road and walk up! We should have made use of the bus service that runs along the bottom road but didn't think about it soon enough. Although we loved the cottage we probably wouldn't stay again because of the issue with parking.
