The property

A charming, 16th century stone-built barn conversion, with particular attention to detail in its renovation, this is a truly outstanding Peak District cottage.

Many original features are retained, while at the same time the barn is well equipped with modern appliances, granite worktops in the kitchen, inviting woodburner and comfortable furnishings to provide guests with a delightful stay.

A romantic retreat or cosy family base, this Peak District cottage is in the centre of the picturesque village of Brassington, boasting a beautiful Norman church, historic streets, two quaint pubs and a children's play area.

Numerous walks from the doorstep lead into the scenic Peak District National Park and tranquil Carsington Water, with lots of activities such as cycling, walking, watersports, an adventure playground and a waterside restaurant.

This Peak District cottage boasts an open plan living area with cosy seating around the woodburning stove, a fully-equipped kitchen with dining area, two elegant bedrooms, a contemporary shower room and an additional ground floor cloakroom, ensuring guests will be delighted with their stay. The attractive and unspoilt conservation village of Brassington is perched on a hillside on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park in the midst of glorious open countryside.

It is a traditional Peaks, limestone village with many cottages dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries.

There are two pubs (both serving good food), and further amenities are available in nearby Matlock, Ashbourne and Bakewell.

Close by is beautiful Carsington Water, covering 750 acres with some of the best sailing in the country.

The site also offers boating, biking and windsurfing, along with shops, a restaurant and a children’s adventure playground.
