  • “Firstly Chris the owner fantastic my kind of lady down to earth and honest.”

Photos need to be updated interior has changed. There are 2 friendly dogs there and no trouble. Really dog friendly. Its a great place for a base to explore the wonderful countryside. Cottage is tiny but its clean and tidy, good outside space. Lovely stream at lower field. Only down side is bathroom very cold and damp. Oh and sykes states no WiFi but it has if I had known I would have taken firestick because we had a day of no stop rain and couldn't do much except football and Wimbledon

About the location

WINKHILL

Waterhouses 1 mile; Alton Towers 5 miles; Ashbourne 8 miles.

Winkhill is a tiny hamlet in rural Staffordshire, and is just 1 mile from the village of Waterhouses. Waterhouses lies between the market towns of Leek and Ashbourne on the southern fringes of the Peak National Park. The village was once the terminus of the Manifold Valley Light Railway, which is now the scenic Manifold Cycle Track, winding its way through the picturesque valleys of the Rivers Hamps and Manifold. The track is flat and traffic-free for cyclists, walkers and horse-riders. The Waterhouses area offers a village shop, a post office, pubs and a cafe/takeaway. The famous Alton Towers Theme Park is only a short drive away.
