I would (and will) highly recommend staying here. Beautiful home made cake and bottle of prosecco on arrival was so welcoming, and appreciated. There were lovely walks from the door for me and Furface. You want for nothing in this cottage and the owners are nearby should you need anything (which you won't). The bed was super comfortable and a bonus of having a TV in the bedroom was hugely appreciated. Thank you for an awesome stay, your cottage is a credit to you. Bev & Gem x

Directions from Ashbourne would have made our arrival less challenging as we were tired and forgot the warning about taking the Ilam turning. Arrived in Ilam but no signal for phoning the owners and no one we spoke to in the village had a clue as to where we wanted to go.Directions for walks from the property would have been appreciated as we didn't want to get lost. The electric charger was wonderful as we are yet to get used to the electric car but we kept a check on the usage and were able to pay for the electricity. A sharp knife in the kitchen would have been nice but the appliances made life easy.

Perfect for walkers with public footpaths right from the front door. Behind the cottage is a footpath that will take you to Ilam Hall and on to Dovedale and Thorpe Cloud. There was a decorated Xmas tree to greet us on our arrival, also delicious Victoria sponge cake and Prosecco. Very much appreciated Julie, thank you! The cottage was extremely clean and comfortable and the log fire was an added bonus. The kitchen was well equipped, with everything needed to cook a Christmas dinner. Lovely walks right on the doorstep if you don’t wish to venture far. Our German Shepherd Rane absolutely loved it, she was particularly interested in the sheep that roam around having never encountered one before. I would highly recommend this cottage, the owners are so friendly and helpful. The only problem for us was access into the property. My husband is disabled and struggled with getting in and out , partly my fault as I should have done a bit more research before booking.

I spent pounds phoning to try and get the cottage as early as COVID would allow and to talk about the money issue but could never get through.
