  • "Really good cottage, and met all our needs."

Only problem we encountered was difficulty accessing the parking space at times. This was due to neighbours parking on the road opposite making it difficult to reverse into the parking space. We understand this is a problem outwith the control of the owners.

Plenty of hot water! Lovely sitting area at top of garden when sun was shining. Good access to walks in the area without needing to use the car.

  • "Cottage is beautifully clean and furnished."

Beds were very comfortable. The owners left a bottle of wine, pint of milk, tea, coffee, sugar which was lovely after a long drive. Also plenty of information on the area and places to visit, plus instructions on all appliances which is excellent. Shower was great, nicely decorated. Bobby the cat and neighbours were very friendly. Places I would visit were dovestone reservoir, dovestone stepping stones, cheedale.beautiful scenery. These are my choices as I love nature, streams, waterfalls. I'm not one for walking uphill, but plenty of walks on doorstep if you're able.

  • "Could not fault the cottage, but the holiday was ruined by the development work going on across the road."

The constant noise from the development, lorries coming and going, dust from the site completely ruined what should be a nice quiet village. I feel so sorry for the local villagers who have to put up with this over development in their area.

Some interesting shorter walks straight from the door. New, modern appliances and plenty of utensils if you wish to self cater but good food and drink at the Old Hall Inn/Paper Mill down the road ( 5 mins walk).Good chippy and other options in the village centre. Beds very comfortable and a nice sitting out area in the garden if weather permits. The neighbours are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and would definitely use again.

Lovely cottage, very homely and spotlessly clean. Overall very well appointed. During this exceptionally hot weather, the living room remained cool. A couple of fans for the bedrooms in the hot weather would be a good idea. Enjoyed sitting out in the garden. Would definitely like to return in the future and will recommend.

  • "It would be useful to have a sweeping brush to keep ground floor clean."

And perhaps a dustpan and brush. Also a mat outside the front entrance, again to help with the floor. There was no bottle opener. Perhaps a freeview box as there is very limited tv channels in that area. Helpful in the evening when the weather is very wet like last week. On the whole a nice little property, well located. Finally, as it was very chilly early last week we needed some heating upstairs. The radiators were turned off (on the lock shield valve, not thermostat) fortunately due to my profession I was able to rectify the problem. Best regards. Graham

It's a beautiful, clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, well laid out cottage. The lovely terraced garden was great for watching the stars in too! I felt totally at peace in this quiet little cottage and would happily rebook as the owners are very friendly and the neighbours are friendly too. The only minor disappointment in our stay was the lack of a tumble-dryer but the clothes horse in front of the radiator did get our clothes dry. The location is great for walking and only a short walk from the fantastic Old Hall hotel where you can get a fantastic meal. Top tip - The Old Hall are also very accommodating for those with food allergies!

We particularly liked the powerful shower, very refreshing after walking in the beautiful Peak District. There were pubs, cafes and a shop only a five minute walk from the cottage in Chinley village. We had meals at The Old Hall Inn and at the Lamb Inn about 2.5 miles away, both of which served very good food. We also had fish and chips from Chinley Chippy which were also very good. We very much enjoyed our stay at Hunters Cottage and would highly recommend both the cottage and the area.

The house was very comfortable with everything that we needed. The garden patio was really nice to sit in the warm sunshine (we did have some even though it was mid-October). • "This cottage is absolutely beautiful!"

My husband and I stayed with our two daughters and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The decor is stunning and everything was so fresh and clean. It had everything we needed and more. Our very favourite thing was the stepped garden terrace which catches the sun all day and night and has lovely views. We cooked a big paella one night and ate it outside while playing board games with the girls. The facilities were great, WiFi, smart TV and washer machine etc all in perfect working order. There was also lots of storage for cases etc. The Bathroom was spotless and the shower was also huge and fancy. There was also parking available onsite. The town of Chinley was picturesque, peaceful with stunning views. There are lovely coffee shops and pubs 5 min walk away and lots of walking trails. We ate out many times and the food was great everywhere we went. The owners were absolutely amazing, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you! I highly recommend this cottage if you want a nice relaxing break away in a beautiful cottage.

Kitchen home from home in terms of equipment for those who want to self cater. The garden was nice to sit out in - we just didn’t have the weather for it. Couple of minor things if these things bother you. The picture was a little deceptive, it’s very close to other properties in a close but that didn’t effect us. Also the flush on the toilet is the loudest we’d ever heard, once one up everyone else is!
