  • "Unfortunately the external show has been disconnected which was a real shame the bath tub was lovely but too deep for me to get out of comfortably."

The wash basin in the toilet does not hold the water the plug needs adjusting, over all it was a nice break the local pub The Greyhound is nice real local.

  • "Lovely cottage, relaxing and cosy."

Beautiful views. Clean comfortable bed. Few negatives: The big green grass area is not for use as we thought before booking, if you are taking your dog (it has chickens in) I would recommend adding a hair dryer and it being fully self check in as waiting around for someone (past check in time) means less time being able to do as you wish especially as there are instructions on how to remove the hot tub lid. Not as big as it seems in the photos and there is no longer an outdoor shower.

  • "Not alot of room for our little dog, the photos show a large grassed area but it's not included in the rental."

Woken up early every morning by cockrals. The cottage was freezing and only one radiator working. The window between the kitchen and toilet is intrusive watching someone sat on the toilet while cooking in the kitchen isnt nice. The out door shower doesn't work The hot tub was lovely and the place is very clean and well decorated

We went to see the gardens and went to Cannock forest with our huskies. The hot tub was great to get into after walking all day. We would highly recommend to anyone and we will be coming back ourselves.

We had the perfect week here for our anniversary. It had everything we needed and the hot tub was a major plus! Everything was within a 10 minute drive with lots of different places to eat, drink and get any bits & bobs you may need. The view is spectacular especially at night. Well worth a visit.

  • "We loved staying here."

Very minimal and small but a great experience. Its in the middle of nowhere with hens and cows as neighbours. The hot tub was a perfect bonus and we really utilised it by using it every day, this was a great addition to the property. We loved the big windows in the lounge kitchen area which looked into the chicken enclosure and made you feel like you were in there with them. It was dog friendly too which was ideal as we came away with our fur baby! One of the best UK stays we have ever done! If you get a chance its a must go to! All the local area is stunning and great for outdoorsy adventure minded people!

  • "Pros Beautiful location, very comfortable bed, lovely surroundings."

Very friendly neighbor. Hot tub was very clean. The facility was very clean and well kept and we felt very safe and content. Cons Bathroom is way too small and you are not able to close the door and that makes you visible if anyone is in the chicken field. To stop this being as much of an issue there could be some blinds fitted on the front doors. Parasol is needed to go over the hot tub. Outside seating needs updating. Lounge sofa is very small for two people. TV wouldn't work for us. Hot tub and the shower need to be more private. Gate didn't lock.

Such a cute little cabin, even got a complimentary bottle of Prosecco in the fridge which I found a lovely add!! The hot tub is absolutely amazing at the end of the day!! The view is amazing to wake up to in the morning too! We live in a city so it was lovely to get away from all the business. We loved that we could bring our puppy with us although We didn’t know there was chickens from the listing but thankfully our dog wasn’t too bad. The only thing I could even say is it stopped us having a lie which would have been nice as we had a couple nights off being woke up by a toddler however it definitely did not ruin our weekend, would definitely recommend staying here, my daughter would have loved it also :)

We absolutely loved the location, and the hot tub certainly was the finishing touch we so needed! We managed to sample a few of the local places that were recommended to eat and enjoyed a lovely long walk to the centre of Rugeley. We spoke with Elliott upon arrival who was really welcoming and showed us how to use the hot tub. We were then left to our own devices which is what we wanted from our stay. Absolutely will be back again and could not recommend this place enough!!

We stayed for 3 nights for our "minimoon" the hut was beautiful and clean, the views are spectacular. 10mins walk into the village to the Greyhound pub for drinks, we also booked a meal at the Ye Olde Dun Cow which was amazing. We don't drive so enjoyed lots of walking including a 45min walk into Rugeley for the day. Hot tub just topped it all off it was great so relaxing. We will hopefully be back for our 1st anniversary next year.

  • "Arrived at the shephards hut , parking space at the rear with a gate to the yard where the hot tub is ."

The yard is not suitable due to size for dog exercise and the field shown in the photos is out of bounds (slightly deceiving photos) Hot tub was great nice and warm the shelter next to it is not suitable to leave clothes as it rains in when the wind blows also the cushion is mouldy. The steps and area leading to the door are dangerous when wet, it's decking so when it rains which it did its like walking on ice Beware! Inside was warm and well equiped, tv with netflix ect we couldn't find a WiFi password for our phones . Bedroom was also nice and warm with a big bath and a noisy wobbly bed but everything was clean . Down sides to this short break was the dangerous decking when wet! And the toilet! Never have I ever come across such a small toilet room you literally could not be in there with the door closed, I stood up from the toilet and bashed my head on the towel rail!

Lovely views and the hot tub was fabulous. The village was just a short walk away with a couple of pubs, we particularly enjoyed our meal in Ye old dun cow. Charlie greeted us upon arrival; he was super friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of recommendations of things to do locally. The hut itself was great and well facilitated. We stayed for a week and were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The cockerels in the morning didn’t bother us personably - being city dwellers we were just happy to be out in beautiful surroundings. A wonderful and relaxing stay, we would definitely recommend!

  • "The place is nice, a bit small but that was expected."

Totally unbearable with the heat though. The size of the place together with the construction of it (tin roof, metal walls and ,large windows without propper blinds and facing the sun most of the day) meant that inside the cabin was a good 7°c hotter than it was outside. I understand it was hot weather when we went but it was 40°c inside (that is from the reading on the thermometer provided) when we arrived. We had to leave on the first night as both of us were unwell in this level of heat. My partner was sick and i had to sit under a cold shower at one point so that i wouldnt pass out. Fans were provided for the cabin but in 40°c heat this didn't help at all. There really needs to be something else in place for warm/summer weather as in its current condition it is dangerous in that kind of weather.

We loved our get away from start to finish. The hut was beautiful and the garden was lovely, with the added extra of the hot tub of course. The only bit of feedback, is the outside freezer should be a full size fridge freezer, as the fridge inside is not big enough to put drinks and food and we had lovely weather so was having to keep our drinks in the freezer.

Heaven to me , the chickens in the field opposite kept us & our dog entertained , the cockerels doing their morning call didn’t really bother us, whilst we were there it was hot weather ( that’s a good thing) , but inside was stiflingly hot though the thermometer did read 38 at one point, all I can suggest more fans maybe and as I wrote down in your visitors book, a larger or all in one fridge freezer as the ones that are there not big enough to hold much food or drink , bar that we had a lovely time, I would come back again & recommend to others.

The small space was very practical and well designed and thought out. My little boy loved watching the chickens out of the huge windows in the morning. The bed was slightly uncomfortable in comparison to our bed at home but we did sleep OK. The only thing was it was very very cold during the night and first thing in the morning, but apart from this everything else was spot on. The hot tub was a fantastic way to relax and end the day and the complimentary prosecco was a brilliant touch. Everything was so clean and it felt very homely.
