  • "What an amazing holiday we had glenhurst!"

The views from the back of the house are breath taking, absolutely beautiful. Situated in a perfect location only 10 minutes from large super markets and restaurants. The house itself is very secure with a gated driveway! Modern design throughout, very family friendly, had everything needed to cook, clean and relax! Very cosy in the winter months due to log burner. This property will always be special to us now as we got engaged here, already looking at booking again! Owners couldn’t be more helpful, checked in to make sure everything was okay / if we needed anything(via email). Easy step by step guide book on how to use everything in the house and recommendations for local restaurants and sites to see. We recommend the tickled trout for Sunday roast a 10/10. Would recommend this holiday home to anyone! Thank you Adam and Chiaki

Thank you very much for your comment. We are delighted to hear Glenhurst was able to help in making your holiday and proposal a very special one. We can't wait to welcome you and your family back to the house again. Property Owner

  • "I can't help but gush about this hidden gem!"

If I could give it more stars, I'd have to consult the night sky itself, because this place is out-of-this-world amazing. The views? Oh, they're so breathtaking, even the birds have started taking notes for their own bucket lists! Picture this: I'm sipping a cup of tea, gazing out at the majestic scenery, and suddenly, I'm pretty sure I just became a poet. It was the best weekend ever – so much so that I might need to start a support group for my other weekends, which are now feeling totally inferior. Now, let's talk about Adam and Chiaki, the dynamic duo of hospitality. These two are like the superhero owners you never knew you needed. They're so accommodating that I'm pretty sure they could turn a potato into a five-star meal if you asked nicely. In a nutshell, my stay here was so delightful that even the sunshine was jealous. If you don't visit, you're missing out on a seriously charming experience.

Thank you very much for your wonderful and descriptive feedback. We are so happy we were able to make your weekend special. You and your group were fantastic guests and it was a pleasure hosting you. Holmesfield has so much to offer; we hope you will be back with us again soon. Property Owner

  • "A lovely house in a fantastic location with one of the best views you could wish for."

The property is comfortable, well furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils for cooking. We were a party of 8 adults and had loads of space to socialise and relax. Perfectly located to enjoy the Peak District.

  • "We had a wonderful time at Glenhurst, thank you so much for having us!"

In particular we enjoyed the beautiful views, how easy it is to pop under the garden fence and go for a walk and how close we were to a local pub which was a crowd please for all of the family. There were lots of little touches which made staying with a family really easy like the high chair, cot, colouring and toddler cutlery which was a real benefit not having to put everything in the car. A wonderful property and very responsive hosts to any questions we had. We’d love to come back.

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are so happy that the children's things were useful for your family. We would love for you to book our house again to further explore Holmesfield! Property Owner

The property

This contemporary and spacious home sits in a tranquil position in the village of Holmesfield, close to the market town of Dronfield and is a fantastic base for a walking holiday.

Set over two floors and backing onto picturesque fields, Glenhurst provides a luscious escape for large families of all ages, whether you are looking to escape the normalities of everyday life or just out to explore Derbyshire.

Upon arrival you are greeted by ample off-road parking spaces, so there’s plenty of room for the family cars.

Step inside and wander through to the large, open-plan living space which is uplifted by natural light from the window panels and bi-fold doors.

Allow the head chef to get comfortable in the kitchen, equipped with an electric double oven, 6-ring hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher, so you’ll have everything required for home-cooking.

Gather at the dining table and cheers to a much-needed family escape, before retreating to the sofa and alluring woodburning stove.

Alternatively, take the evening outside and enjoy a moment on the balcony, gazing across the garden and towards the fields.

There's also a handy utility with a washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for freshening up your wardrobe!

When it comes to catching your rest, choose between five neatly presented bedrooms; on the first floor lies two doubles which enjoy lavish en-suite facilities, and a further two doubles (one with two twin beds), whilst there is also a ground-floor sofa bed that can be made into a double bed that is ideal for those with limited mobility.

Start the morning with a shower or soak in the family bathroom, before popping on your walking boots and heading out to explore the local countryside.

There are four pubs within walking distance which have been loved by the locals for many years.

From your doorstep, stroll into the centre of Holmesfield where you can find the Angel Inn and Rutland Arms, ideal for treating your loved ones to some hearty fare on the days you don't feel like cooking!

Head into the market town of Dronfield, which has great historical significance and the Grade I listed Church of St John the Baptist is testament to this as it has stood at the centre of this community since the 12th century.

Further afield, the scenic trails and cycle routes of the Peak District await, including many fascinating caverns, imposing peaks and listed buildings.

Treat the family to a memorable stay at Glenhurst.
