"What an amazing holiday we had glenhurst!"
The views from the back of the house are breath taking, absolutely beautiful. Situated in a perfect location only 10 minutes from large super markets and restaurants. The house itself is very secure with a gated driveway! Modern design throughout, very family friendly, had everything needed to cook, clean and relax! Very cosy in the winter months due to log burner. This property will always be special to us now as we got engaged here, already looking at booking again! Owners couldn’t be more helpful, checked in to make sure everything was okay / if we needed anything(via email). Easy step by step guide book on how to use everything in the house and recommendations for local restaurants and sites to see. We recommend the tickled trout for Sunday roast a 10/10. Would recommend this holiday home to anyone! Thank you Adam and Chiaki
Thank you very much for your comment. We are delighted to hear Glenhurst was able to help in making your holiday and proposal a very special one. We can't wait to welcome you and your family back to the house again. Property Owner
"I can't help but gush about this hidden gem!"
If I could give it more stars, I'd have to consult the night sky itself, because this place is out-of-this-world amazing. The views? Oh, they're so breathtaking, even the birds have started taking notes for their own bucket lists! Picture this: I'm sipping a cup of tea, gazing out at the majestic scenery, and suddenly, I'm pretty sure I just became a poet. It was the best weekend ever – so much so that I might need to start a support group for my other weekends, which are now feeling totally inferior. Now, let's talk about Adam and Chiaki, the dynamic duo of hospitality. These two are like the superhero owners you never knew you needed. They're so accommodating that I'm pretty sure they could turn a potato into a five-star meal if you asked nicely. In a nutshell, my stay here was so delightful that even the sunshine was jealous. If you don't visit, you're missing out on a seriously charming experience.
Thank you very much for your wonderful and descriptive feedback. We are so happy we were able to make your weekend special. You and your group were fantastic guests and it was a pleasure hosting you. Holmesfield has so much to offer; we hope you will be back with us again soon. Property Owner

"Lovely place in a beautiful setting with plenty of space and natural light in the living areas, and a balcony overlooking a well kept garden and beautiful rural scenery."
Bedrooms comfortable, modern kitchen. Great place for a summertime stay. The owners could not have been more helpful, welcoming and responsive.

"A lovely house in a fantastic location with one of the best views you could wish for."
The property is comfortable, well furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils for cooking. We were a party of 8 adults and had loads of space to socialise and relax. Perfectly located to enjoy the Peak District.
Thank you for choosing Glenhurst and we appreciate your valuable feedback. We are delighted to know you had a nice time. We hope to exceed expectations if you ever choose to visit Holmesfield again! Property Owner
"We had a wonderful time at Glenhurst, thank you so much for having us!"
In particular we enjoyed the beautiful views, how easy it is to pop under the garden fence and go for a walk and how close we were to a local pub which was a crowd please for all of the family. There were lots of little touches which made staying with a family really easy like the high chair, cot, colouring and toddler cutlery which was a real benefit not having to put everything in the car. A wonderful property and very responsive hosts to any questions we had. We’d love to come back.
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are so happy that the children's things were useful for your family. We would love for you to book our house again to further explore Holmesfield! Property Owner

About the location

Holmesfield is a small village situated on a high peak between Bakewell and Sheffield, on the very edge of the Peak District National Park, and with commanding views of the Cordwell Valley. Surrounded by undulating countryside and deep valleys, the village is made up of a group of traditional old houses, interesting manors, a village hall and the parish church of St Swithins, built in 1826. There are many local amenities; the area boasts eight pubs and a number of fine restaurants, and is ideally located for exploring this interesting and beautiful area. Nearby, the impressive Damflask, Agden, Dale Dike and Ladybower dams make for an interesting afternoon's ramble, while the attractive village of Hathersage is also within easy reach, thought to be the inspiration for Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre and home to a selection of shops, pubs and inviting eateries, and a lovely outdoor lido. There are many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall to mention just a few, whilst the historic and ever popular town of Bakewell along with the lively city of Sheffield are both within a short drive.
