  • "Could do with a dishwasher, massive grill pan very difficult to get clean."

However, apart from that, we loved the place very much!

  • "A lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country."

Although the sofa was too low/soft for us, everthing else was very comfortable. Amazing welcome pack for which we were very grateful. Extremes of weather during our stay, so it was nice to return to a nice cosy cottage at the end of the day. It was just the 2 of us for plenty of space. Tried to rebook since we returned home, but unsurprisingly fully booked - hope to go back one day. Many thanks

It was a lovely cottage. The only negative is that the cottage did not have a bathtub as listed shown i the listing description and photograph.

Everything that we needed. Unfortunately the weather was awful and petrol crisis stopped us from getting out and about but the comfort of the cottage made up for it. Our 3rd break this year due to covid cancellations and can honestly say this was the best kept of all of them

Lovely cottage with character and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Couple of negatives / opportunities for improvement, all outside. Grass needed cutting, outdoor furniture a bit worn and the barbecue is past its prime. Thanks

The welcome box is a nice touch too. Good location for getting out and about. A few pointers,......The mattress’s were uncomfortable so could do with replacing with better quality ones. A mirror would be good by the dressing table and also a plug so you could dry your hair.

  • "I highly recommend Josephs Cottage."

The cottage was to a high standard and in a lovely location. We felt very comfortable to time we was there. The local village was very friendly and has everything you could need, pubs, shop, chip shop, bakery and Indian takeaway/restaurant. We had some great days out in Derbyshire. We had a fantastic week and will definitely return to this cottage.

  • "Joseph’s Cottage is a fabulous little place."

On arrival it was gleaming and the welcome pack was a lovely touch and was enjoyed by all. The cottage was also spotless and had clearly been cleaned thoroughly. The cottage was well equipped with everything thought of and really felt like a home from home. Location wise it is perfect for exploring the Peak District and Crich itself is a lovely village. It was the perfect size for myself and my two teenagers and we will hopefully be back!

  • "This was a very comfortable house - part of its appeal is that it's tiny, yet everything you could possibly need has been shoe-horned in!"

We were grateful for the wood-burning stove because it was unseasonably cold weather while we were staying. We appreciated the welcome gifts (wine, crisps). It's also a real plus to have an excellent bakery/café within easy walking distance.

  • "This cottage was fabulous!"

A really well stocked kitchen and lots of little bits and pieces around the place making it a home from home. The wine and chocolate were a very welcome surprise. The place felt clean and comfortable. I went with my mum and we were both so happy with the cottage, the facilities and the location. It was a nice walk down the road into the village centre to get our essential food items and visit an actual butchers rather than a supermarket! The Tramway Museum just round the corner was well worth a visit. We were able to park just out front of the cottage and thankfully we didn't need to use the car to go anywhere as I wasn't convinced we'd still have a parking spot when we got back, so that was the only tiny negative in a long list of positives! I would 100% recommend this cottage to anyone and would be happy to stay there again. Thank you Ann for making such a lovely holiday home!

  • "We've been lucky enough to stay in a lot of cottages in the UK and Joseph's cottage was very homely and well kitted out."

The owners have obviously thought a lot about making people's stay easier and more enjoyable. We stayed with 2 small boys and they loved it and were well entertained for 4 nights. It was exactly what we were looking for with a couple of pubs within walking distance and a garden and plenty of longer walks and villages to explore only a short drive away.

Enclosed garden great for when the grandchildren visited. Lots of attractions nearby. Kostas fish and chip shop in Matlock Bath highly recommended; good portions, reasonable prices, children's meals, toilet, no wonder all the bikers go there.

  • "This was a really nice and cute little cottage on the outskirts of Crich, near to Matlock and some other lovely Peak District locations."

The cottage was really nice, with a lovely welcome pack, some games and books, and two cosy rooms. There were two pubs in the village, both of which were great! We did a few nice walks nearby, some of which were printed out in a folder in the house, and the house was well equipped for eating in - all the cooking implements you need! For business travellers, the WiFi was good enough for me to do some Skype calls while there (I plugged my computer into the router to make sure the speed was as fast as possible).
