  • "The cottage was immaculately presented."

The furnishings and fittings were first class. We were there for four weeks as we were in the middle of a protracted house move and we felt at home and at ease there from the first day. Caroline and Duncan were excellent hosts without being intrusive.

Thank you very much for your lovely review, it was a pleasure having you to stay. Hope your house move goes ok. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, beautifully kept."

Clearly a huge amount of effort has gone into decorating this surprisingly spacious cottage. It is beautifully clean, well equipped and the little luxury touches of fluffy towels, lovely hand soap, tea, coffee, cake, wine and milk on arrival make you feel so welcome. It’s a really peaceful property with lots of space including access to a gorgeous outside area. The owner lives just next door and was so kind and welcoming, showing us around and how everything worked, meaning we could enjoy our stay from the minute we arrived. The walks from the door were lovely and plentiful, a short weekend is no where near enough. Our only very minor niggle was the amount of air fresheners which made us both sneeze continuously.

The cottage is beautifully furnished throughout and a lot of time and thought has gone into the decor. Although we had dry weather it was not tge time of year to sit outside but I imagine in summer it would be a real sun trap. Thank you again Caroline for being so helpful and welcoming. Everything in the cottage reflects the owners, Caroline and Duncan's good taste and attention to detail. You really couldn't wish for better accommodation. As for the location, it is a short walk into a very pleasant small town with everything you could need in terms of shops, pubs and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed shopping in the many small, independently owned shops with their friendly, chatty owners. A first class staycation.

We stayed last summer and enjoyed it so much we decided it was perfect for a winter break too. We were not disappointed. The weather meant we spent a lot of time indoors, (as we expected). The cottage is furnished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. We were very cosy with the log burner in the living room. Our 9 year old son, generally adverse to going out at the best of times, was very happy in his home from home. Out and about there are lots of walks nearby and a little further afield. We enjoy running and the Trans Pennine Trail is just on the on the doorstep. The owners make a real effort to welcome their guests and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Caroline. I am sure we will return for a third visit at some point.

So glad you enjoyed yourselves despite the weather. Hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner
