  • "Dovecote Cottage is one of the nicest places we have stayed in."

It is elegantly furnished with beautiful furniture, comfy sofas and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in! The bedroom is delightfully quirky and the bathroom facilities are excellent. The kitchen had everything you could need and our dog also felt very welcome. Shame the weather was so awful, but that meant we enjoyed what the cottage had to offer even more!

Thank you for your lovely review. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay (apart from the weather)! Property Owner

  • "My daughter and I had a lovely stay at Dovecote Cottage."

The cottage was equipped to a very high standard and had everything we needed. The enclosed outdoor space was perfect for our cocker spaniel. Having a welcoming card and bottle of fizz was a lovely touch too. Thank you!

  • "Our weeks stay was perfect and the cottage met all of our needs as a base to visit friends and go to planned appointments."

The cottage is well equipped and has a very large and comfortable bed, and probably one of the best showers I have experienced in holiday accommodation to date! The location is peaceful and has a nice secure pebbled back garden for the dogs. The owners live next door but never bothered us at all but were there if needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this cottage again! Thank you.

Thank you very much for your kind feedback and for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy. Property Owner

  • "Great little cottage for 2 and a 4 legged friend."

The owners live next door and have the right mix of being there if you need anything and leaving you alone to get on with a relaxing holiday. Car needed as the main parts of the Peak District are a little drive away. But don't let this put you off as this is a fantastic little holiday let. Enjoy :-)

About the location

ASHBOURNE

Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collecting of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.
