"A beautiful, well designed and furnished property."
A lovely home from home to relax in which was comfortable and warm, perfect in this November weather! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need so we were able to cook with no issues. Showers were great, had good pressure and were walk in showers with plenty of space (there are no baths but this wasn't an issue for us). Beds were beautifully made up, bedding was soft and beds comfy (we took our own pillows after seeing a review that said pillows are thin and we recommend doing the same). We took our husky, there was plenty of space for her in the property and the secured garden was great, and there are lots of great walks locally and also ones you can drive to (we loved Attingham Park). Internet and tv were good enough for what we needed. There is ample off road parking outside the property and it was easy to find using what 3 words. Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.
"Absolutely first class accommodation and definitely deserves to be rated as outstanding."
Would have no hesitation in returning or recommending to others.
"We had a great week in the Old Workshop - accommodation was clean & comfortable and location was very good."
The nearby Whixall Marina & Cafe was a real bonus both for a morning coffee and for walks along the canal. We all had a slight issue with the pillows provided - these appeared well used & very flat & in need of updating.
"Lovely relaxing stay at the Old Workshop."
Marina is close by and has a nice little cafe.(You can't actually see the canal from the cottage but it's a short walk.) The cottage is quite remote with not much around but that didn't bother us as we just wanted to relax. The cottage was really clean and communication with owners was good.
"Absolutely lovely accommodation and well equipped."
For some reason we thought it was in the marina with the marina as the outlook. A 2nd TV up in the snug would have been ideal for a breakout area and the grass could have been cut, but these are really small niggles and did not detrack from our enjoyment
"This is a lovely property."
There are some great walks from the door along the canals and lots of places to visit only a short drive away.
Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. One small niggle.. As a party of four elderly people we did find it very slippery and possibly dangerous when using the shower. Providing a non slip mat for the shower would be appreciated.
"This is one of the best property`s we have been to."
A credit to the owner`s. Very clean. Lovely quiet very little traffic. We live on a main road so it was great to be able to hear the birds. lovely walks along the canal. The cafe at the marina was a very nice place to sit and watch the narrow boats coming going. A lovely touch was shown by the owner`s by leaving tea, coffee, milk, sugar, salt & pepper. Not forgetting the lovely tin of biscuits. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday.
"Delightful location near canal with pleasant walks and many good places to visit - gardens, National Trust and English Heritage Properties etc."
Cottage extremely comfortanle and fitted out to a high standard
"Lovely holiday let with every convenience provided."
Very clean and presented.
"We had a lovely week at The Old Workshop which is a well equipped holiday home."
A DVD player in the facilities would have been the icing on the cake for entertainment on the wet days. Will certainly return when next in the area.
"Just wow - this is a truly amazing property."
Warm, clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, well equipped and cosy. Also loved that it was a truly dog friendly garden. Would certainly stay again.
"A lovely property with all you need."
Clean, tidy, comfy. Nothing we could fault, this is our second visit to these properties and we will certainly be back.
"We loved it!"
The property is furnished beautifully and has everything you need. One of the best we have been in. Dog friendly garden. Lots of canal walks. Would highly recommend and would rebook. Fabulous for family gatherings if you wanted to book the house next door and the tyre barn next door.
"Immaculate inside and out, large with a cosy feel."
Everything you needed and more, our granddaughter and little dog loved the garden. Great sitting room upstairs to chill in, especially the low window to watch the world go by. Thanks for a great stay hope to be back next year.
"We loved our stay."
On arrival it was clear we had picked a gem. The design and finish was lovely, immaculately clean and well presented. The sofas and beds were so comfortable. No corner left unturned, every kitchen item we needed was available too. This made a perfect space for us to set off and explore local walks with our dog. The garden was secure and tidy for him. Such a quiet location with easy access onto canal paths. We would love to return again
"Amazing thankyou, we loved this place, from the beginning, arrived to find some ..."
Amazing thankyou, we loved this place, from the beginning, arrived to find some lovely goodies from Louise, I always need a cuppa, milk and tea were very much appreciated, very thoughtful, I cannot fault anything, the stay was just lovely, comfy, cosy, warm, well stocked with everything you could possibly need, the best thing I can say is thank you, and we did not want to go back home ❤️ Jan
"They thought of everything!"
! :) We decided to have Christmas away this year, and we are so glad that we did! The place is beautiful. Everything has a high standard finish that doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of ageing. It has a real cosy feel about it. They thought of everything, there was even a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. No need to take your own potato peeler! :) Thank you, we had a wonderful stay and would love to plan another stay soon.
"This little haven away from it all is just beautiful inside and out, comfy and warm with all the amenities you would expect and set in a modern style with the exterior happily 'nodding' to its former use."
"Excllent house 4 of us stayed for the week & really enjoyed it we were all cycling so the excellent bike shed was good & very secure."
"Fantastic place to stay we all thoroughly enjoyed the few days shame it wasn't longer"
"I stayed here for the weekend with my family and dog."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was well equipped, clean and cosy!
"Loved staying here."
So nice. Would recommend to anyone looking for top accommodation in the area to pick this property.
"The Old Workshop is lovely and we would highly recommend it."
It’s comfortable, well equipped and was so clean on our arrival. The location is perfect for walking and visiting Shropshire’s lovely villages and market towns. We really enjoyed our stay and so did our dog. We will definitely be returning again, it was perfect. Thank you.
"Beautiful place to stay."
Exceptionally clean and well looked after. Very comfortable and homely.
"The Old Workshop is set in a beautiful location with lovely walks right on the doorstep."
The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The space is well laid out and very comfortably furnished. Lou and the team were really helpful. We spent a very relaxed fortnight and didn’t want to come home!
"A very comfortable and well furnished cottage."
It was immaculate on our arrival, all credit to the cleaners, with high quality fixtures and fittings. We found the beds and settees very comfortable, and the showers ( all 3) lovely. You can walk to the marina and the cafe but you cannot walk around the marina. There are plenty of walks from the cottage however so we enjoyed our week. Most of the local pubs allow dogs so we were able to eat out whenever we wanted to. We would certainly return.
"The Old Workshop is a well equipped, clean, easy to live in property."
There is plenty of parking and a very secure bike store. We arrived a little early and were welcomed warmly. There is a nice little cafe at the marina and walks along the canal start just a few hundred yards away. We had a wonderful holiday with daughter, son-in-law, 3 month old grandson and dog.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our break in this property."
Beautiful and plush. Could not find fault. Hoping that the property remains the same for years to come. Sat upstairs and watched the sunsets. Would be nice to have a TV upstairs too. The walks from the property are relaxing, no real need to get in the car unless going further afield. It was disappointing not being able to walk around the Marina but understand why, you can only go to the Cafe. We viewed the Marina from the other side of the canal on one of the walks. Thank you to Lou and Team at the Marina. All the rental properties look gorgeous.
"Absolutely wonderful stay and the premise offered all that we hoped for."
One very small negative point, in all 3 shower rooms there was no power socket facility for electric shavers. Other than that, everything else was excellent and the little extra gifts left for us on our arrival was very thoughtful and appreciated. 4.75 Star rating overall. We will recommend this cottage to all our friends and relatives.
"1st Class accommodation."
Would highly recommend.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Workshop, it's a beautiful property, very well equipped, clean, comfortable and well situated for visits to many places - Chirk, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Llangollen etc."
We would definitely recommend staying here.
"Excellent accommodation and facilities, we were hoping to christen the beautiful new BBQ, but didn’t get around to it as the food opportunities around the local towns gave us the chance to relax and not worry about cooking, and cleaning up."
The dishwasher and washing machine are brilliant as are the showers. Thanks for the personalised welcome note, and the biscuits were lovely. The marina cafè provided a great breakfast too.
Everything one would need whilst on holiday is catered for in the accommodation Very clean, perfect!
"Lovely welcoming accommodation."
Owners were very friendly and helpful providing information on accommodation location and the local area. We really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved that there were games available for them to play. I was amazed at how well equipped the kitchen was (scales, bowls, large freezer as well as the fridge and a coffee maker!). The washing machine and tumble drier were also welcome additions. Beautifully designed and laid out. I could quite happily live in a place like that!
