"My family of adult children and partners plus my husband and myself had a lovely three night stay here."
The communication from Liz was well timed and very helpful. Jasmine Cottage is beautiful, lovingly restored and no expense spared as to comfort and attention to detail. The road as described can be noisy but the comfort of the home helps make up for this. We will certainly be returning in the future.
"Lovely cottage, great communication from the owner."
The dogs had a fab time, enclosed garden and plenty of areas to let them run free within walking distance. Some really nice pubs in Duffield with good food. The cottage was will really well stocked with everything you could possibly need and there was a great welcome pack provided, thanks
"Wonderful cottage,well equipped ."
Our stay was too short..Well thought out Welcome pack.. Near to local shops and pubs.. Thank you.
"Thank you for having us - we had a great holiday!"
The cottage was beautifully maintained and spotless and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. It had everything we needed. The photos on the website don’t show just how lovely the house is. We found the road noise very intrusive and had to move the children to sleep on the sofa bed and put one of the single mattresses on the floor in the double room, as they were unable to sleep in the twin room. (Headboard end is closest to the window). They did try moving the pillow to the other end of the bed but it didn’t help. The larger vehicles make the house shake when passing so we weren’t able to sleep very well. Fully appreciate that this is not the fault of the cottage - which was great. If we were to have stayed anything longer, the addition of a washing machine would have been very helpful.
"Lovely cottage, very well equipped, spotless and a few minutes walk from shops, pubs and restaurants."
An ideal base for exploring Derbyshire
"Our stay at Jasmine cottage was perfect."
The owner’s attention to detail is excellent and the cottage is beautiful. We all really enjoyed our stay. It felt like a home away and not a rental. Thank you Liz
"Already provided in the guest book at the end of our wonderful stay."
"A truly lovely cottage."
Probably the best appointed place I’ve ever stayed in, and the owners had thought of everything. Extremely clean and tidy and obviously lovingly renovated, with the bonus of a self-contained garden to relax in. As has been noted, it’s on a main road so is a little noisy, especially when you need to have the windows open, so just come prepared. The benefit is that the village has everything you need including a couple of good places to eat/drink and a decent shop. It’s also useful for either visiting Derby or going north to Matlock etc. All in all, thoroughly recommended, and would absolutely stay there again.
"The property is lovely and very well furnished and appointed and it has everything you could need or want."
However, it does face onto a very busy road which can be noisy. The enclosed garden at the rear is a real bonus as it was so safe for the dogs. The only criticism is that the master bedroom pillows need replacing as they are hard and flat.
"Amazing cottage with fantastic facilities, would definitely recommend."
The owners are especially hospitable with great attention to detail.
"Fantastic, well equipped Cottage with everything you could think of and all the things you forgot to bring too!"
Lovingly furnished to a very high standard, incredibly comfortable rooms and a fabulous Bathroom. Lovely area with so many great places to eat, drink and discover within walking distance and short drives. As regular travels having Owners of the property that are so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable makes all the difference. Thank you and congratulations.
"Wow! Such a lovely place to stay in a delightful village."
Everything is provided with extras! We had a super time in Jasmine Cottage The owner is very kind and helpful, even when Sykes were not.
"A well equipped cottage with plenty of supplies provided, good sized beds and enough space for a family."
Whilst not ideal, the parking arrangements do work well and you can get parked opposite. Would have loved a washing machine, but nowhere obvious in house for one. The road was busier than expected or I am used to. A great base for exploring Derbyshire and very lovely owners.
"Well equipped, clean and spacious."
Very thoughtful welcome box. Nice garden and secure for our dog.
"Jasmine Cottage was fantastic."
Liz, the owner, sent really helpful advice. Duffield is a really nice little village and all the locals that we met were super friendly. We had our dog with us and all the pubs were happy for us to take him in with us. We never drove more than forty miles as there are so many great places to visit. Fantastic walks for all are nearby. We would love to re-visit and would recommend to anyone.
"The house was a little gem!"
Was beautifully clean and had everything plus more that you could want. What was particularly fantastic was the "goody bag" provided with supplies to get you going. Above and beyond! We even had a jar of doggy treats which our labrador thoroughly enjoyed! The bedrooms were large, with plenty of cupboards, drawers and hangers and really cosy. Very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful walks right on the doorstep with some lovely pubs nearby.
"We had such an amazing stay at Jasmine Cottage."
The cottage was beautiful and it really felt like a luxury holiday with surprising and thoughtful touches throughout. The owners were fab and the garden was perfect and secure for our 2 dogs. I would highly recommend this cottage for a holiday.
"We were very impressed with Jasmine Cottage, it was lovely and cosy and had everything that we needed for our 3 nights away."
The living room was cosy with an open fire which we love so this was great for us, nice enclosed garden for the dog and the bedrooms were lovely, the bed was so comfy and we really liked the thin duvet covers and pillows, they were really soft to sleep in. TV with Netflix in every room was an added bonus, its very rare you get that in a place to stay, it was great. We had a welcome basket which had bread, crisps, cookies, bottle of wine, milk and butter in the fridge, you don't always get this but something I think properties should do, it just helps as you don't have to rush out to buy milk if you wanted a quick cuppa, this is a great touch!!!!! And of course the bottle of wine was great, not cheap either :) The locals I have to say in every place we visited were lovely and very helpful, we were very impressed by the service we recieved and really would make us come back again. Thank you to Jasmine cottage for a lovely 3 days away, we were even given a late check out as there were no one else going in after us, so it was great to recieve that text message, the owners did not have to do that but they did and it was very much welcomed, saves rushing around but also meant we could walk the dog before setting off home. The only one small, very small downside was how busy the main road is outside, this is no reflection on Jasmine cottage but we could not believe how busy it was, they need a 30 sign down there. But the good thing was that they had a lockable gate at the front of the property so it meant that the dog could not run out when we had to open the door. Thanks again for a great stay, we would return.
"Jasmine Cottage was great, very comfortable, has everything you need and the owners were more than helpful."
Many walks to choose from straight from the door, good choice of eateries in the town and locally. Would definitely recommend,
"The house was absolutely lovely."
And the bath was outstanding! We would definitely book again.
"Jasmine cottage is so obviously a work of love."
Exceeded our expectations, we had a lovely week. Very well equipped throughout. Very comfortable beds with high quality bedding. Could not fault the cleanliness. We have had many cottage holidays but never had such an extensive wonderful welcome pack. Lots of useful information from the owner, including the local walks which we enjoyed with our dog, especially the nature reserve across the road alongside the Derwent, we even spotted a kingfisher! Secure back garden. Lovely log burner in the lounge. The village has everything you need: co-op, bakers, takeaways, newsagent and more. A 5 minute drive away is a nice farm shop. We used the cottage as a base to explore the south of the Peak District and meet up with family from Nottingham. Would highly recommend Jasmine cottage and we plan to return.
"Second time here."
Still one of the best properties we have stayed in. So well looked after. Every details has been thought of. Luxury and comfort at its best. Great location to travel to the Peak District and some beautiful walks around the village and surrounding villages. We will defiantly be back. Thank you to the owners for making our holiday one to remember.
"We have been to Jasmine cottage many times."
It is a beautifully restored cottage. Every room is just gorgeous. Very close to shops and cafes. Would not hesitate to recommend booking a holiday here.
"We have stayed at Jasmine Cottage a few times and it’s absolutely gorgeous."
I have nothing negative to say about it. It’s close to shops and cafes and on the doorstep to the very beautiful Derbyshire. I would absolutely recommend Jasmine Cottage.
"The property is amazing!"
So clean and well stocked with everything you would need. Very well placed for local walks or to venture further out, we had lots of trips out with the children. The owner Liz was super helpful and very contactable for any advise. Only downside was the road, it’s quite busy and noisy, but they have made it safe with a fenced off area as you leave the property. With two young children and two dogs it wasn’t a problem for us. Highly recommend!
"Beautifully kept property, immaculate inside and out, would definitely recommend ..."
Beautifully kept property, immaculate inside and out, would definitely recommend this property and Duffield is great place too
"We just wanted to thank the hosts."
The owner messaged me the evening before, to give us some information on the cottage. She went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Once we got there, there was a welcome hamper that was well appreciated. The village its self was absolutely gorgeous & had everything you could wish for. We had great weather & absolutely enjoyed our two days there.
"Jasmine cottage is just perfect."
It’s lovely and clean and very tastefully decorated. It is the second time we have stayed and we love it. Very close to local shops and cafes.
"A lovely clean, tastefully decorated house."
Close to shops and cafe’s. Really enjoyed our stay.
"As soon as we walked through the beautiful red front door into Jasmine Cottage we felt at home & at peace."
What an amazing place, beautifully restored and decorated. The bathroom being my favourite place because not only was there an amazing roll top bath but a telly at the end of it!!! I was like a child at Christmas
"The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean."
A lovey enclosed garden was very suitable for our dog. The owners were friendly and approachable.
