Only drawbacks (limited parking, only loo upstairs and on a busy road) were well flagged in advance so no shocks/issue. Overall very relaxing stay and would recommend.

The communication was amazing and everything you thought you might need to know was already taken care off. The location was perfect for us as a family with a dog. Lovely walks to the pub and the meadow. The owners thought of everything and couldn’t do enough for us and the communication was open and friendly making you fee like you was talking to an old friend. We will certainly be booking a return visit. We loved it.

  • "Arrived from france for a family funeral so a sad time for us."

When we arrived at the house it was so warm and cosy, very clean and had everything we needed. The log burner in the evenings was lovely and we enjoyed coming back to the house each day and curling up on the sofa or walking to the local pubs. Our two dogs loved the walk across the road and although the road could be busy inside the house we didn’t notice it. Thank you to Liz for answering my couple of questions in quick time and a special thanks from the dogs for Friday. We would happily stay again at this beautiful house that has been renovated to a very high standard. We loved everything about our stay.

The communication from Liz was well timed and very helpful. Jasmine Cottage is beautiful, lovingly restored and no expense spared as to comfort and attention to detail. The road as described can be noisy but the comfort of the home helps make up for this. We will certainly be returning in the future.

  • "Thank you for having us - we had a great holiday!"

The cottage was beautifully maintained and spotless and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. It had everything we needed. The photos on the website don’t show just how lovely the house is. We found the road noise very intrusive and had to move the children to sleep on the sofa bed and put one of the single mattresses on the floor in the double room, as they were unable to sleep in the twin room. (Headboard end is closest to the window). They did try moving the pillow to the other end of the bed but it didn’t help. The larger vehicles make the house shake when passing so we weren’t able to sleep very well. Fully appreciate that this is not the fault of the cottage - which was great. If we were to have stayed anything longer, the addition of a washing machine would have been very helpful.

  • "A truly lovely cottage."

Probably the best appointed place I’ve ever stayed in, and the owners had thought of everything. Extremely clean and tidy and obviously lovingly renovated, with the bonus of a self-contained garden to relax in. As has been noted, it’s on a main road so is a little noisy, especially when you need to have the windows open, so just come prepared. The benefit is that the village has everything you need including a couple of good places to eat/drink and a decent shop. It’s also useful for either visiting Derby or going north to Matlock etc. All in all, thoroughly recommended, and would absolutely stay there again.

  • "The property is lovely and very well furnished and appointed and it has everything you could need or want."

However, it does face onto a very busy road which can be noisy. The enclosed garden at the rear is a real bonus as it was so safe for the dogs. The only criticism is that the master bedroom pillows need replacing as they are hard and flat.

Whilst not ideal, the parking arrangements do work well and you can get parked opposite. Would have loved a washing machine, but nowhere obvious in house for one. The road was busier than expected or I am used to. A great base for exploring Derbyshire and very lovely owners.

Liz, the owner, sent really helpful advice. Duffield is a really nice little village and all the locals that we met were super friendly. We had our dog with us and all the pubs were happy for us to take him in with us. We never drove more than forty miles as there are so many great places to visit. Fantastic walks for all are nearby. We even had a jar of doggy treats which our labrador thoroughly enjoyed! The bedrooms were large, with plenty of cupboards, drawers and hangers and really cosy. Very well equipped kitchen. • "We were very impressed with Jasmine Cottage, it was lovely and cosy and had everything that we needed for our 3 nights away."

The living room was cosy with an open fire which we love so this was great for us, nice enclosed garden for the dog and the bedrooms were lovely, the bed was so comfy and we really liked the thin duvet covers and pillows, they were really soft to sleep in. TV with Netflix in every room was an added bonus, its very rare you get that in a place to stay, it was great. We had a welcome basket which had bread, crisps, cookies, bottle of wine, milk and butter in the fridge, you don't always get this but something I think properties should do, it just helps as you don't have to rush out to buy milk if you wanted a quick cuppa, this is a great touch!!!!! And of course the bottle of wine was great, not cheap either :) The locals I have to say in every place we visited were lovely and very helpful, we were very impressed by the service we recieved and really would make us come back again. Thank you to Jasmine cottage for a lovely 3 days away, we were even given a late check out as there were no one else going in after us, so it was great to recieve that text message, the owners did not have to do that but they did and it was very much welcomed, saves rushing around but also meant we could walk the dog before setting off home. The only one small, very small downside was how busy the main road is outside, this is no reflection on Jasmine cottage but we could not believe how busy it was, they need a 30 sign down there. But the good thing was that they had a lockable gate at the front of the property so it meant that the dog could not run out when we had to open the door. Thanks again for a great stay, we would return.

Exceeded our expectations, we had a lovely week. Very well equipped throughout. Very comfortable beds with high quality bedding. Could not fault the cleanliness. We have had many cottage holidays but never had such an extensive wonderful welcome pack. Lots of useful information from the owner, including the local walks which we enjoyed with our dog, especially the nature reserve across the road alongside the Derwent, we even spotted a kingfisher! Secure back garden. Lovely log burner in the lounge. The village has everything you need: co-op, bakers, takeaways, newsagent and more. A 5 minute drive away is a nice farm shop. We used the cottage as a base to explore the south of the Peak District and meet up with family from Nottingham. Would highly recommend Jasmine cottage and we plan to return.

So clean and well stocked with everything you would need. Very well placed for local walks or to venture further out, we had lots of trips out with the children. The owner Liz was super helpful and very contactable for any advise. Only downside was the road, it’s quite busy and noisy, but they have made it safe with a fenced off area as you leave the property. With two young children and two dogs it wasn’t a problem for us.
