  • "We loved every minute of our stay regardless of whatever the weather may be outside."

It was perfect to watch the world go by, sheep and lambs in the fields, people passing along the footpath or the changing weather up on the Mam Tor range. One thing that did concern us at time of the booking was the listing noted no freezer, but could use the owners. This was not quite true as the fridge had a large ice box which could easily store frozen peas, ice blocks etc which was ample for our needs.

Also a 10 minute walk across the fields to get to the pub in Edale. The farm location was very quiet with only the sound of the sheep, and the views were fabulous. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We hope to return.

  • "The cottage was small but cosy."

The kitchen was very well equipped. The sitting area was comfy. The bed was very comfortable and the duvet was snuggly. The location was excellent - 10 minutes walk to the pubs across decent paths that are manageable in the dark (with a torch). Also just 10 minutes walk to the start of the Pennine Way and the ascent of Kinder Scout. As New Year guests, we really appreciated the chocolates and sparkling wine, as well as coffee and milk. The coloured lights decorating the farm were also lovely. Great place! Thank you.

It's perfectly located for walking straight from the cottage, but equally as easy to drive from further afield for other walks, and the pub and village store were only a 10 minute walk away with the train station not much further. We will definitely be back in the future!

Lovely property just big enough for two. Well equipped and very comfortable. Only thing we could think of that would be an improvement would be the addition of a small foot stool for resting weary legs on whilst sitting on the sofa at the end of a day of walking.

The owner lives on site and was very welcoming and helpful upon our arrival. The location is fantastic and it is only a 10 minute walk into the main part of Edale with it's two pubs, small shop and visitors centre. We were able to eat most of the meals we prepared in the cottage in the lovely courtyard garden, overlooking the Great Ridge. Such a great view!! We did all of our walks from the front door and hope to return in the future.

The walk to the village is along a farm track and footpath, it takes 10 mins and you st the nags head. The cottage was perfect to rest in after a long day of walking.

  • "It was a working farm breeding sheep so we learnt a lot about sheep breeding."

The cottage was just right not too big , not too small, everything worked although it had a funny television set up. The owners of the property were helpful friendly and although very busy due to the lambing time were always willing to talk about sheep. The property was really out in the country side at the end of a single track lane which really needed a few more passing points so timing was important when coming and going. The scenery from the cottage is awe inspiring I have never been so impressed, the weather was good so the Peaks were showing their full glory. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who loves the country side.

Even so Mr andMrs Gee went out of their way to explain the workings of the farm. We spent a very pleasant week in beautiful countryside surrounded by sheep and lambs and learnt a lot. We wii return.
