  • "Nice comfortable cottage that is more spacious than it seems at first galnce."

Reasonable amount of storage for clothing which is often an issue in smaller holiday lets, although I am a man & was on my own. Clothes junkies might not agree. Plenty of walks from the door & lots of places within a short drive. I would have prefered a fridge with an ice box & would always prefer a washing machine over a diswasher (never seen the point of them, especially for two people). Anything longer than two weeks would start to become an issue if you are out & about walking or cycling & getting muddy. That said it does mention this in the booking details so it wasn't a problem. Would definately stay again & would reccommend to others.

  • "Perfect small cottage for 2, for a rural getaway."

Excellent village location in close driving distance to the sights and activities of Derybshire such as Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock. Very clean and comfortable. Only minor niggles were: lack of space for our luggage (we had to place it on the sofa, so then we only had the bed to sit on as it's a one room studio space; the TV /radio was very temperamental - often main channels such as BBC 1 couldn't be found or no signal at all for hours); there wasn't a freezer compartment in the fridge so we couldn't store ice cream etc. We would 100% recommend.

  • "We had a perfect stay in this peaceful little cottage."

Everything you could wish for is provided. Located in the sleepy village of Elton there are numerous walks from its doorstep and a shop in the next village which takes approx a 30 minute stroll. There is nowhere to eat in the village itself but there are little villages round and about that do have places. The cottage was spotlessly clean, with central heating and an electric fire if you get cold. The wifi for us was great and the shower was powerful. We chose not to watch the tv, but it is provided along with several dvd's. We didn't notice the local attraction leaflets until we were leaving! But we were very content with exploring the area ourselves. Many thanks to our lovely hosts Michael and Gill, for the wine and for being there if we needed you, but not being intrusive at all. It really was a pleasure to stay in your wonderful cottage and to meet you and your son. All in all we had a much needed rest and will definitely look to book the cottage again if we are visiting the area.

Our hosts were unobtrusive, but the contact we had with them was very pleasant and welcoming, as was the bottle of wine and fruit cake provided. The property was cosy, warm and clean, and in very good decorative condition.

  • "Cobbled cottage is very small."

The small sofa has to be moved to watch the tv as they are placed at right angles. The only place to play cards or a board game is on the breakfast table in the kitchen. Elton is a very quiet village. There isn’t a shop or anywhere that serves food. The pub is open Wednesday to Sunday from 8.30. The narrow lanes leading into the village don’t have a pavement so it is dangerous to walk along them after dark. Winster is about a mile away and has a post office with a convenience shop. There are several pubs in the area that serve food.

Friendly and helpful owners. Only snag is that the sofa is rather low and difficult to get up from if you’re arthritic and elderly but most people should have no real problem.

  • "We had a lovely short break at 'Cobbled Cottage'."

The cottage is situated in a lovely area - very peaceful as it is one of the smaller villages in Derbyshire. It is close to many places of interest - Chatsworth is only a few minutes away as is Bakewell and Matlock. Gill and Michael Berry (The owners, who the property is adjoined to) were very welcoming but not intrusive in any way.

  • "We had an excellent week at Cobbled Corner and found it a very convenient and comfortable place to stay."

Particularly helpful to us at the moment was the fact it is single storey, as one of us is awaiting knee replacement surgery and would not have wanted to tackle stairs! The village of Elton and its surrounding countryside is fascinating and very historical. The cottage is warm, snug and cosy and the owners very helpful and welcoming. We thoroughly recommend a stay at Cobbled Corner!

Best shower we've come across in a long time. Plusses were the well equipped kitchen. Minuses was the sofa being side onto the TV and intermittent WiFi signal.Would we stay again? First choice if we are in the area.

Michael and Gillian Berry were great hosts, always ready to assist me, but otherwise left me to get on and enjoy my holiday. The property is ideal for a single person or couple, with all the necessary amenities. I was impressed with their very thorough arrangements for hygiene etc in view of the pandemic situation. This was very reassuring. I can highly recommend staying here, for anyone wishing to visit The Peak District.

  • "This was a very nice, tidy, comfortable property, with everything I needed."

The owners were very friendly and helpful, and The shower in the bathroom was amazing. One thing that was not perfect was the parking outside the property, which meant that I either had to reverse out of the drive or do a 5- or 6-point turn if I wanted to come out forwards, which was only possible if the owners' car was not there. Another small problem was the Wi-fi, which did not have a signal for the first few days of my stay, but this was not a real major issue. The cottage is in a small village, and there are some very narrow, winding lanes close to it, which were quite difficult to drive down, but this would not necessarily put me off from making a return visit.
