The property

A lovely detached lodge set in extensive private grounds next to the owner’s home, in the village of Findern, close to Derby.

This delightful lodge is the perfect base for a small family or group of friends wishing to explore the surrounding area.

This cosy lodge style cottage has two comfortable bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and patio doors leading out to a decked terrace.

A fully equipped kitchen and dining area, provides everything for your culinary needs, and the sitting area has laminate flooring throughout with the comforting warmth of underfloor heating.

A large patio window floods the room with natural light and opens out to the large decked terrace, ideal for enjoying an alfresco meal.

Steps down from the decked terrace lead you onto the extensive enclosed lawned garden, ideal for children to run around, and the owner has taken great care to ensure that guests with limited mobility can fully enjoy their stay here with ramps for wheelchair access, a large wide access wet room and a 'Kirton' powered armchair which helps to sit and rise with ease.

Findern is a tranquil village with a green overlooked by the parish church.

From here you can enjoy heritage trails and guided walks around the village and numerous footpaths.

Mercia Marina, Europe’s largest inland marina, is a short distance away and is worth a visit with its array of shops, restaurants and cafes, or you can enjoy plenty of other activities including boat trips and circular walks taking in the abundance of wildlife.

This lodge makes a great base for exploring the Peak District National Park, as well as the market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne.

Also within reach are a number of National Trust properties, such as Calke Abbey and Sudbury Hall, and a little further afield is the magnificent Chatsworth House.

Also Alton Towers is only just over half an hour’s drive away, making this a perfect holiday location at any time of the year.
