  • "Loved it. In the middle of nowhere, really quiet."

Very comfortable. The welcome basket and Sky tv were a nice bonus. The stairs are a bit steep but manageable. Good location for surrounding tourist sites. Will definitely book again.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage."

It clean, well equipped and comfortable. I would recommend this accommodation to my family and friends. I particularly enjoyed the log fire in the evenings, it was so cosy. Many thanks for our welcome gifts of biscuits, milk and wine. There was a plentiful amount of logs and kindling to last us the week. Many thanks, hope to visit again soon.

  • "Stayed for Christmas and New Year, atrocious weather but in the cottage you are oblivious of the noise of the wind and rain."

The cottage was cosy and warm, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. Great having the boot room to leave the dog in to dry off in! Bed was very comfy and clean laundry was delivered weekly. Bridget and her husband are excellent hosts and was invited to attend a Christmas Flower Table Decoration workshop at their pub which was a high point for me. They helped with storage of our caravan we had travelled up from Devon in after the storage we had booked was not ideal. Only problem we had was not realising the child lock on the Sky TV, which once known was no problem. Sky TV a massive bonus on bad weather days and WiFi excellent. My husband who is the cook loved the kitchen, well equipped large dining area was our dogs sleeping area and he loved it too! Sorry Bridget we have killed the Cyclamen plant we are rubbish with house plants!

  • "The cottage is very spacious but cosy, had all of the amenities we needed, very comfortable sofas and beds, clean and modern bathroom and lovely garden."

We had use of the log burner, which was lovely when we had wet weather for a few days, great off road parking for 1 car, lovely welcome package too! Bridget was very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. It's a great base for exploring the Peak District, we visited Castleton, Mam Tor, Back Tor, Buxton, Bakewell, Lathkill Dale, Padley Gorge, Monday Trail and Chee Dale stepping stones. All within half an hour drive. Would 100% recommend and would stay again! Thank you!

  • "This was a lovely house, very comfortable."

It had a great porch area that was perfect to place our dog crate/bed for our dog to sleep in. The house was well equipped (probably the best equipped kitchen we have ever had in a rental). A lovely welcome pack. It was very clean throughout, there were only two of us so we only used the double bedroom. Very steep stairs! The garden is lovely and completely secure for a dog with a wonderful view across the fields beyond. A good situation for exploring the Peak District. Off road parking for one car. We had to use the my3words location to find the property once we arrived in the village of Flagg.

Very peaceful and the owner of the cottage, Brigette made us so welcome. She had kindly left us the essentials as well as chocolate biscuits, wine and fruit, even eggs from her own hens. Lovely starry skies, wonderful to be able to lay in bed with the curtains and windows wide open and look at the night sky. The cottage wasn't very far from any of the national park attractions although still very rural in a very small village. We will definitely go back and visit again.

The property

Overlooking rolling green hills in the heart of the Peak District, you can find 3 Moorview, an end-of-terrace stone cottage in the village of Flagg, not far from the bustling spa town of Buxton.

With its traditional front garden and classic look, this cottage is a lovely hideaway for friends or families, where you can really experience the beauty of the Peaks right on your doorstep.

The bright spacious boot room will benefit you well, especially if the weather has been wet, to provide you somewhere to kick off those muddy boots and hang up the soggy coats to dry, before getting toasty warm in the next room.

Get comfy on the sofas in front of the woodburning stove after a day of walking, and watch a favourite film on the TV to wind-down for the evening, while someone rustles up dinner in the open-plan kitchen and dining room, with its classic country style decor and modern appliances.

Heading upstairs will bring you to the three bedrooms, two king-size, and a twin, along with a bathroom containing a spacious walk-in shower to wake you up in the morning!

To the front of the property is a delightful enclosed garden, lined by stone walls and shrubbery with a lovely lawn space for children to play on in the summer months, with stunning views out to the rest of the surrounding countryside.

Flagg is a small farming village, and although there aren't any local amenities it is a great starting point for a Peak District adventure, located in the area also known as "The White Peak" being a thousand feet above sea level, it is surrounded by many wonderful paths and tracks, with the Limestone Way Walk passing straight through the village.

Being so close to the famous spa town, a visit to Buxton is definitely on the itinerary, with its superb Georgian architecture displayed in the form of the Buxton Crescent, The Pump Room, and the Buxton Opera House, and a must-see for all visitors where you can fill up your water bottles with the famous thermal waters from St Anne's Well!

With its fantastic location and idyllic surroundings, 3 Moorview is a great introduction to the wonders of the Peaks.

About the location

BUXTON

Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.

It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
