Some furniture a little dated but perfectly useable so not a complaint, just observation. Thank you.

  • "Thank you for a good stay."

We stayed for a week and felt that the accommodation offered everything we needed. Even a washer/dryer which was ideal when travelling with little children. 10 minutes drive to Buxton and nice local walks from the accommodation suited us well.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in this spacious cottage."

It looks old on the outside but is modern on the inside (with reliable wifi coverage but no mobile signal). The cottage is on top of the road into Flash but it is a very quiet road so there is no disturbance from traffic noise. There is a nice easy walk from the cottage (down to Three Shires Head). There is nothing in Flash itself (the pub looks as if it has been closed for some time, not just for lockdown) but there are plenty a short drive away. Would stay here again.

  • "We loved the house, the bathroom facilities were exceptional with 2 en-suites plus a family bathroom."

The kitchen was well equipped although the hob was a bit tricky, didn’t seem to hold the heat consistently. The water was very very hot, great for showers and baths once you got it regulated. Some better garden furniture would have been good as we had great weather and it would have been nice to sit outside. The information book wasn’t great, some maps would have been helpful and it wasn’t very current. The local pub recommended was closed when we were there. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

  • "We had a lovely time at northfield cottage just what we needed after lockdown."

We visited many of the natural beautiful surrounding like Thors cave and dovedales, but because the cottage was it such a great location we were also able to take the kids to Alton Towers and visit gorgeous historical towns such as Bakewell. We would highly recommend the Peak District and Northfield Cottage.

  • "The cottage was in a fantastic location and had all the facilities that we needed."

We did lots of local day trips and trail runs. We didn't need to driver further than 30 minutes for beautiful walks. We also did a hack from the stables next door. Unfortunately the kitchen was not cleaned very well prior to our arrival, particularly the oven. We gave it a clean and then everything was fine.

  • "Lovely house in a beautiful location."

Perfect for our family meet up. We had one issue but contacted them and all was sorted really quickly on a Sunday so very impressed. The house is perfect to visit so many stunning places, Chatsworth, the Roaches, Peak Wildlife Park, Lud's church to name a few. Buxton is within 10 minutes which is great. We had 2 four year olds and location was great, some lovely little walks straight from the house and lots of child friendly things to do a short drive away. Highly recommend the Knights Table (a 2 min drive or walkable) for dinner, it's a great place and very child friendly for a lovely pub lunch/dinner. We would definitly come back.

It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and there was a nice welcome package of biscuits for our dogs! Moreover, the beds were comfortable - there had been no stinging on mattresses. Beautiful area around and lots to visit.

Lovely cottage with everything you could need.. i shall echo the criticism that bigger saucepans would be helpful. The village is small but has a pub, no food, but extremely friendly landlady and very dog friendly.. Shop is 2 mins drive away and has homemade cakes etc.. And they are delicious!!! Super holiday..

Beds being the exception. We arrived to a really hot house and had to open windows to get to a toelerable temperature. The following two days we were cool and heating was impossible to adjust. So disappointing from that point of view. The layout was good and plenty of room for the 8 of us for our short stay

  • "Lovely warm and cosy cottage with some great walks nearby."

That said I think it should be advertised as a 6+2 cottage rather than a proper 8 person. The upstairs double bedroom is a 'bolt on' to the lounge without wardrobe or cupboard space and the bathroom is downstairs. Admitted there is a utility room with a toilet in on the same floor and for a long weekend its OK but not ideal if you were staying longer. Overall though very nice and would visit again.

  • "The house was lovely and it was very quiet."

It was a good location for visits to the rest of the Peak District. The only issue as a dog owner was that (although there was a small yard at the back) the garden was not secure. It’s also a shame that the owner of the farm has blocked most of the view with a row of trees. It was nice to walk down the road to see the views.

! Perhaps it was because we came home feeling so relaxed! What a beautiful house. Extremely comfortable and spacious. Safely arranged for families with young children. Very modern utilities- everything you could possibly need has been thought of. Friendly pub is a 1 minute walk. Surrounding area is breathtaking (literally- if you’re a bit out of shape!) with great walking or cycling routes to follow. Although it gives a feeling of peace and solitude, it is also a good base for exploring this lovely area.

  • "A superb cottage that is clearly looked after."

The facilities were fantastic; great showers and extremely comfy beds, a new dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. My son (10) loved the reclining armchairs and even said that he will buy one with his first wage packet! Be aware that the local pub is closed on a Monday and Tuesday! The location is good, approximately 7 miles from Buxton. We did a fantastic walk along the river, a short drive away, (using a map left in the cottage) with our children, where they relished the opportunities to explore caves and boulders.

Modern, clean, good bike storage facilities. Having a number of showers and toilets was great and everything worked perfectly. All appliances were modern and worked which made it effortless. Great to have La-Z-Boy sofas and chairs to relax in and the kitchen was great, as was the communal table. You could imagine that staying there for Christmas with friends / family would be lovely as would sitting out on the decking in the summer watching the sunset.
