  • "The Coach House exeeded our expectations."

A beautiful house full of character set in beautiful countryside. The house itself was exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. Despite arriving in the midst of storm Babet we were lucky to have great weather during the day and were able get out to Trentham gardens with it's makers market and for a walk in the countryside from the Cricketer's Arms. We all had a great stay and would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Coach House and would definitely return.

Thanks for the great feedback, so glad that you had a good time and managed to also get some decent weather! You are welcome back anytime. Property Owner

  • "We had the most amazing time at the cottage."

It is absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed! The guys especially enjoyed the bbq pit! We wished the weather was a bit better to make use of the outside a little bit more but nonetheless it was a perfect stay. Only downside was the 10am check out! As we had driven nearly 5 hours to get there it would have been nice to have a later check out. I would love to go back again in future.

Thanks so much for yourexcellent feedback and we are happy that you had a great time at the Coach House. The arctic cabin is certainly a fab place to have a BBQ! With regards to checkout time, we can be flexible on that but we also have to be mindful that the cleaning team need time to come in and work their magic before the next guests arrive from 3pm. Look forward to welcoming you back some time. Property Owner

  • "The Coach House was exactly what we were after for a weekend with friends."

It was so well equipped and was comfortable but did have a lot of low level cobwebs which had probably just been missed by the cleaners. The outside space was great.

  • "Property was as described, very nicely decorated and furnished."

Clean and comfortable. The welcome pack was lovely. Great property for all of us, and the extra lounge on the middle floor was fab for the kids to chill out in. The only negative was that a few of the slabs at the front door were really wobbly and uneven when walking on them.

Thanks for your feedback and glad that you enjoyed your stay. The loose slabs have now been repaired. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely property."

It was spotless throughout and, although modern, was full of character. The kitchen was very well stocked with high quality equipment, however it would have been useful to know that we should bring coffee pods for the Nespresso machine. The owner was particularly helpful in contacting us and promptly resolving an issue with the heating. It is very conveniently located for Alton Towers, Froghall Wharf and steam railway, beautiful Dimmingsdale and the Peak District National Park. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

  • "A lovely multi-generational break."

Facilities and attention to detail top class. An observation, but not a complaint, is that waste and recycling disposal was a little confusing.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

The house is done to a high standard and well appointed. Comfortable and spacious, plenty of equipment, everything provided. Thought the welcome hamper and bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch. Lovely countryside and walks nearby. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Amazing house with just about everything you need for your stay, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into it."

Lovely and clean. The welcome pack was a nice surprise! Hadn’t realised that there were no tea towels provided so couldn’t dry dishes properly, maybe needs to be pointed out a bit better. In a lovely area with woodland walks around it, even though there are houses around the property it was really quiet. Would come back again!

Thanks for the great feedback, we are glad that you had a lovely stay and would love to welcome you back. Apologies about the tea towels, we normally provide two for the guests, we hope it didn’t inconvenience you too much. Thanks again. Ron and Lucinda. Property Owner

  • "A lovely stay with our family."

A slight hitch with the keys was soon sorted. The house is impeccably equipped and maintained and the garden and barbecue cabin are wonderful. Shame it wasn't summer! The only down side is that it is a long way from any facilities such as shops pubs and restaurants - you need to drive everywhere. The Cricketers Arms in Oakamoor doesn't do food and it is a slightly dodgy walk there on a road with no pavement. There are good walks from the house though. Can recommend the Star at Cotton for food.

  • "This is a beautiful house, a little tricky to find turn in!"

The property is fabulous, the quality of the crockery, cutlery, towels, soft furnishings is second to none. There is very little missed but we would have liked a grill pan plus we had a 9 hour power cut and feel that there should be torches, candles and matches under the sink in the unlikely event this happens again. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a home from home, it literally has everything you need. It was very clean apart from one waste bin in the second floor bedroom not been emptied and was full when we arrived plus the general waste bins had not been put out so there was nowhere to put our rubbish - this is not the fault of Sykes or the owners.

Thanks for the great feedback. We checked and the grill pan was in the oven, so not sure what happened there! Really sorry about the power cut, apparently the whole village power was out. Torches are provided for guest use; there is one in the side table drawer in the dining room and another in the kitchen utensils drawer. Guest support in taking out bins for collection is very much appreciated! We are delighted you found The Coach House a home from home. Thanks again, Ron and Lucinda Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was top notch with so much good quality equipment to hand - we didn’t need to take anything."

Everywhere was spotless and the extra room in the Arctic hut and games room was a great addition, we just wish we’d had longer to enjoy it. Thanks for a lovely stay ☺️

  • "The house is beautiful & luxurious."

Wish we could have used the outdoor activities more (weather) but the artic hut was great. The only negative was that we could not walk to any local amenity so that is misleading in the description/summary of the place. And the village has no local shop.

  • "We really enjoyed the holiday."

The house was very well appointed. If I had one thing that would improve it, I would suggest summer-weight bedding as the beds got very very warm!
