"We booked the cosy to have some time away and celebrate our wedding which we had 4 days before arriving."
The pictures and the property description helped us pick the cosy however we were not expecting it to be as beautiful as it was! When we arrived our only thoughts were wow! Decorated beautifully, fully equipped and comfortable (we did struggle in a smalller bed, however this still didn’t stop up having an amazing time). Everything we needed was there and the break was just perfect from start to finish. Plenty of places to explore around the property or some just a short drive away. After a day of exploring getting into the hot tub was just perfect and well needed. The log burner fire was also a game changer to warm the property up and made sure we have a comfy and cosy vibe. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and the complimentary Prosecco. Milk, tea & coffee was a game changer! The place was immaculate & clean, we will 100% be returning next year, there are no dates available currently however hoping this opens up within the new year so we can celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary!

"It was an amazing property."
There are a few things that could be changed. They could do with blinds on the big patio doors. A bit more privacy would be better. Especially on an evening. The bed was very small. They have all that beautiful space. So could definitely benefit from a bigger bed. The hot tub was amazing, however I do feel it could have been a bit warmer, especially for the October month. Even though there are a few issues. It was still an amazing property and we had a very enjoyable, relaxing week. The property was lovely and warm, didn’t get to use the open fire. (Which was a shame) And the little touches like Prosecco, toilet rolls, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, sugar and sweeteners was lovely. Thankyou for an amazing week.

"We stayed a week & enjoyed ourselves."
The Cosy is a lovely little retreat. But lacks certain amenities to make your stay that little bit special. The instant hot water isn’t boiling hot, so doesn’t make the best tea. There are no blinds to the lovely fully opening garden window doors, which are brilliant on a hot day. The Cosy it warm with the underfloor heating. Bed is really comfy with really comfy pillows. The bed it’s self needs the casters taking off & solid feet putting on. We found ourselves heading towards to spiral stairs case on several occasions;)
The shower needs the second adjustable head fitting & the toilet roll dispenser relocating to a higher position. There are no facilities to wash your dog after walkies other the hosepipe outside.
But all said we it have a lovely time here & would highly recommend. The people of Hayfield are really friendly, the Packhorse food is exceptional. The Hallam brothers garage are brilliant, so much so we found ourselves part exchanging our car for a new Ranger Rover…

It is rare to find such a nice holiday stay that is dog friendly. Hot tub and prosecco are a wonderful touch. The only improvement I could suggest would be to install blinds/curtains across the downstairs doors. Otherwise perfect stay!

The only thing I can suggest is putting some curtains or nets up in the downstairs window just for a little more privacy but other than that not single complaint about anything, the bottle of Prosecco was a thoughtful touch would deffo stay again!

We had a weeks stay with our 2dogs and just can’t fault anything! The kitchen with washing facilities was great and the outdoor space with hot tub was secluded and welcoming. Bedroom and bathroom works well. Added bonus with dog paddock came in very handy. Lots of great walks on the doorstep and great pubs and cafes also in walking distance. We can’t wait to return. Can highly recommend The Cosy! The owners have done a fantastic job!

"The settee is a little uncomfortable as it is a sofa-settee, which are always a compromise in design over comfort."
I would also question why there is a sofa-settee and not a normal settee, as the cottage is advertised as suitable for only two people anyway? Also, the mirror light in the bedroom did not work. Finally, the blinds on the bedroom windows were a little awkward to open and close, so we just left them closed for most of the week (not the skylight blinds, which worked fine). Other than that, the property is fantastic and we would definitely stay there again.

"An absolutely beautiful property with everything you could ever need and more!"
!! Set in a great location near pubs, convenience stores and plenty of walks. Sheridan was a wonderful host on hand if we needed her. Hayfield experienced a power cut on our first night and Sheridan was on hand to assist. You can tell that she has really taken care and attention to detail.
We could not believe how clean the property was as we knew people had been in there the day before us and it was spotless.
We spent our first full day exploring the area doing the Sett Valley Trail and walked in the peaks followed by dinner at Collosseo Italian. The second day we took a short drive to Bakewell which was beautiful. In between we spent time in the hot tub whilst it was frosty outside.
What a beautiful stay, highly recommend!!

"Lovely cottage, very cosy in general and overall we enjoyed it."
The bedroom was lovely although the bathroom was a challenge. The downstairs set up was pleasant and efficient although blinds at the back window would be useful at night to ensure privacy.
Bit surprised at the need to help the cleaner with their duties (stripping bed, bin emptying etc, never experienced this before). Sofa was adequate but the joint between the units was uncomfortable.TV was adequate but limited.
The paddock was really useful but it would really help if the people that adjoin the field would close their gates after their use as we almost lost our dog into someone's garden first time around. All fairly minor but might be helpful to others.
Useful for Hayfield, which is a lovely village.
Many thanks for your suggestions, we do have a few improvements planned for next year. We have requested since Covid times that guests could strip the bed at the end of the stay - it really is just for that reason! The sofa is actually a sofa-bed & opens up to a make a double bed - apologies if the frame is uncomfy. We're glad you liked the paddock & do hope you come back to stay with us in Hayfield again. "It is definitely a cosy property ideal for 2 plus a dog."
We were disappointed with some aspects. The settee was incredibly uncomfortable to sit on to watch tv. There were no baking trays to use when cooking. The hot tub chemicals were not checked during our week’s stay - we have never not had this happen at every other cottage we have stayed in. The overall cleanliness needs improvement. Someone had left a smiley face in the dust on the tv unit. A used plaster was left at the side of the hot tub.
Improvements needed are blinds in the downstairs. Next doors security light goes off every time a car goes past and this illuminates the bedroom. Next doors dog (unsure if this is the owners property) is free to wander around the car parking area and uses it as its toilet. This was never cleaned during our week’s stay so you had to be very careful where you stood when going to the car.
The village has 3 good pubs, a chemist, a butchers and a general store. No where for a brew and cake and is definitely lacking facilities for this to be a holiday destination.
Walk guide books in the property would be useful. We spent most of our time driving to other villages with better facilities as the property wasn’t comfortable enough to spend an afternoon sat in.
We wouldn’t stay again or recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback - we are upset to hear that you wouldn't recommend The Cosy as we always try our best to ensure that guests enjoy their stay.
The faint 'smiley face' had obviously been drawn on, as no amount of polishing would remove it. We have actually had to repaint the unit to cover it up! The 'plaster' was in fact a small label off the chlorine tablets and I can assure you that the hot tub chlorine & ph levels are always closely monitored. The security light is actually designed to shine on The Cosy's driveway - to help guests rather than hinder so we shall now be reviewing this.
The lovely neighbour & her little dog are extremely friendly, very approachable & happy to help with any concerns.
We are sorry you could not find anywhere in Hayfield Village for a brew & cake - unfortunately Marmalade Cafe is closed Tues-Thurs, however the Sett Valley Cafe is open 7 days a week & only a short walk away. There is also a mobile coffee van situated in Hayfield Bus Station. Property Owner

The cottage truly lives up to its name, and is nestled in such a lovely and friendly village in the Peaks. We love that we can bring our pups, go for long walks practically from the doorstep, and come back in the evening to cook a meal, enjoy a wood fire, and relax in the hot tub. For us the bed was a little small but we understand why and it is not a criticism. The only slight criticism was the lack of bath towels.
