Great location. Tastefully done. Had everything we needed even down to a torch for taking the dog on the field at night. Will definitely be back, that's if we can find any availability, already been looking

! It was perfect for a relaxing escape from reality! The bed was so comfortable, the fire just added to the Cosy feeling especially on a grey day or to warm up when out of the hot tub ! Hayfield was a lovely place, friendly and lovely walks on the doorstep. Perfect for the puppy with access to large fenced paddock at the back of the property he loved his first holiday!! Thankyou for having us :)

The cosy was just that - Cosy! What a beautiful little house to stay in, just what we needed for our little mini-moon. So many local walks to try and the information provided was very helpful! Hot tub definitely came in handy after a good mornings hike up the Tor! Amazing stay ❤️

Lovely food available within walking distance (you must try The Pack Horse in the village-10 minute walk). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back!!

  • "This was our second stay at The Cosy and hopefully not our last."

The cottage truly lives up to its name, and is nestled in such a lovely and friendly village in the Peaks. We love that we can bring our pups, go for long walks practically from the doorstep, and come back in the evening to cook a meal, enjoy a wood fire, and relax in the hot tub. The cottage is not only pristinely clean, the quality and care put into every aspect from the rain shower, comfortable bedding, and hot tap for a quick cup of tea, makes this one of our favorite places to stay.

  • "Loved the cottage and the hot tub, all very clean."

The decor is beautiful. Would have been even better if there was a king sized bed. Also a few personal touches would be nice, like walks of the local area and maybe some books. Lovely village with great pubs and a good butchers. Would stay again but only for a couple of nights, unless the bed was changed to a king size, then we would stay for a fortnight!!

  • "We had a great stay and loved the property."

For us the bed was a little small but we understand why and it is not a criticism. The only slight criticism was the lack of bath towels. We would have liked more that one bath towel and one hand towel each or if that is not possible a suggestion that you bring your own for use with the hot tub. It's only a small thing and didn't effect our fantastic stay. Thank you

  • "Lovely cottage."

All the facilities one needs for a short break lovely decor and the hot tub is a lovely treat at the end of the day. Just one minor issues that doesn’t impact me personally. There is no lighting in the bedroom adjacent to the mirror therefore my wife couldn’t apply makeup properly.

  • "The cosy is hidden away between 2 domestic houses and on first impressions you would be forgiven for thinking it is someones converted garage however on entering this tardis, your thoughts are completeley blown away."

It is an amazing piece of renovation of what was indeed a barn with every inch of space used to perfection, internally from the kitchen to the bathroom, every top specification mod con is there for your pleasure. Externally the hot tub is in a paved area, with open country views ( however it is not sheltered and a bit open to neighbours views). Location is great for local amenities and walks. Would definately recommend

  • "We arrived on Friday afternoon at 4pm and was greeted with a bottle of Prosecco, milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate which was a lovely touch."

The cottage itself was so beautiful, cosy by name and nature although at no time did it feel too small even with 2 adults and a big dog. Lovely surprise as brand new hot tub had been fitted the day we arrived and so we were the first to use it. It was so very welcome following our long walks up the peaks. Great facilities, loved the boiling water tap, so much better than waiting for kettle to boil. Candles, wood burner and cosy lights on in the evening and comfy sofa to snuggle up on to watch a film or box set on iplayer. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and was on hand if needed but not in your face either which is perfect. Would highly recommend the Sportsman pub for food, very friendly, great with dogs and absolutely gorgeous food. Would highly recommend The Cosy and will definitely return.

About the location

Chapel-en-le-Frith 4 miles; Glossop 5 miles; Buxton 8 miles.

The delightful High Peak village of Hayfield is situated in a wonderful rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak National Park. It’s a peaceful little village, popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away. The village caters well for tourists with pubs, cafes and restaurants. Other local attractions include the Goyt Valley, Castleton – with its famous caverns - and the popular spa town of Buxton.
