  • "The barn was excellent ,very clean and every possible thing provided."

On arrival beers and bottle of wine in kitchen with homemade brownies and dog treats. In the fridge was three types of cheese.plus all condiments salad cream and loads of things we probably forgot to bring . The hot tub was superb with four hooded dressing gowns with cupboard for them and phone storage next to hot tub which had a lovely view of llamas goats and geese .Barn had good wifi with smart tv with netflix and you tube incuded in bedrooms too. The owners next door were very welcoming with a goat walk and feeding the llamas included there is a honesty box for fresh goose and hens eggs and some vegetables which were delicious . I can highly recommend this luxury cottage and will return in the future.

The owners have gone to so much effort to make sure holidays there are perfect with so many extras from all the welcome goodies in the fridge to the extremely high quality furniture and furnishings. We met the owners who were very friendly and helpful, we hope to be able to go back soon.

  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage."

Extremely well equipped and very clean. Views are stunning (hot tub a big bonus). Really good location for us, not far from Holmfirth and lots of local walks from the cottage and in surrounding areas. Really good village pubs within 5/10 min drive serving great food. We will definitely be back!

  • "Wow! What an amazing place, the cottage is beautiful, very quirky and has everything you could imagine to need."

We stayed with children and we could do baking, collected fresh eggs from the hens, played in the hot tub, went for woodland walks, walked the goats. It was just fantastic, the photos definitely do not do this cottage justice, a lot more spacious than it looks. Throughly enjoyed it and would return.

  • "We had such a wonderful break!"

Old Hay Barn is absolutely beautiful, well equipped, wonderful views and we would definitely recommend it. We (2 families - 4 adults, 4 kids aged 6-11 and 1 dog) found the space so relaxing, everyone adored the hot tub, and there were some beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Amanda and Darren are on hand if needed but completely unobtrusive and very helpful. Loved it and may well be back! Also highly recommend the Huntsman Inn on the other side of Holmfirth for Sunday lunch.

Adult bedrooms were lovely and very big beds, the den has two singles but the roof does slope and so is suited to smaller people or kids x

The cottage is beautifully decorated, and it was lovely waking up to find goats, sheep, ducks, a pony, and a cat all on our front door step. The views were stunning. I loved the Hot Tub and our two year old loved the Den. I cannot recommend it enough. Amanda and Darren were on hand if we needed anything. Hope to go again!

  • "We had an amazing time at The Old Hay Barn, the cottage was lovely, comfortable and clean."

The owner's were lovely the only negatives I would give are the Den is too small and only suitable for really small children and maybe all the bedrooms should have tv's. But this is only a personal preference the surrounding area is beautiful and the cottage is too!

Personal touches - balloons/welcome message, Procesco, treats, made it feel special. Had everything we could ask for, not weekend away would seem the same now without a 'hot tub' (highly recommended). The views from outside the cottage outlived expectations and the inside was spacious, very clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. We all had a fab time and would highly recommend this accommodation 10/10 Thank you Amanda and Darren for our wonderful stay

  • "What a wonderful stay we had in this beautiful and well equipped cottage."

Welcomed with flowers, prosecco, cheese board, cakes and snacks a very good first impression! Even dog treats for our little furry friend. The cottage was well designed and thoughtfully kitted our for a cosy stay in the stunning countryside. Comfy beds, sofas and a hot tub along with everything you need in the kitchen to cook, even a slow cooker and steamer. Very helpful owners on hand if you need them. Testing the hot tub water each day reassuring. Nice little village pub strolling distance and stunning scenery and walks from the doorstep. Would return again and highly recommend it . If you are taking a dog take a long leash as the garden isn’t secure and there is a cat and chickens to tempt it to run off!

  • "The cottage was correctly described, though we were not fully aware of the exact height restriction in the 4th bedroom from the Sykes description."

The owner made us aware a few days before arrival. Nevertheless, we were very comfortable. The additional touches, such as Christmas gifts, hamper and cheeseboard were most welcome and the house was nicely decorated for Christmas. The location was excellent and some of us enjoyed walking in the surrounding countryside. Using the hot tub on Christmas Day was a treat. As the dishwasher is a small one, we did do a fair bit of washing up and one or two extra tea towels would have been welcome. Overall, a most enjoyable stay and we would go to this cottage again.
