  • "Loved our stay in Chestnuts Barn!"

It was the perfect home away from home for us and perfect for what we needed close to the family we’d come to visit and close to the A38 to get around easily. It had everything we needed for a comfy stay and the welcome pack was lovely extra. The one thing I would say was parking is a lil tight but then I haven’t driven in the uk for quite a while so that was probably more me than anything else!! Haha Thank you for a lovely stay will definitely come back the next time we’re back to visit family.

  • "Chestnuts Barn was very well presented."

It had all that you could need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Everything was done to a high standard and the whole barn was spotlessly clean and fresh. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room throughout. The location was perfect for our needs and set in a beautiful village. The hosts were very friendly and approachable and we felt that our needs were important to them.

  • "We had a lovely few days at Chestnuts Barn."

It is very comfortable and situated in a lovely village close to lots of places of interest. It is dog friendly just a shame it hasn't got a garden where we could let the dog out for a run. But she enjoyed lots of walks instead.

The photos of the barn are correct on your website, the rooms are large, Wi-Fi is very good no lag, the power shower is great and get hot within 30 seconds, the bed is good and nighttime no noise from the road, all of the Peak District can be reached within an hour, the Spotted calf and it’s mother are very good, parking is a bit tight for some vehicles but ok once you get the hang of it, would recommend to anyone that’s overall it is a lovely place to stay , would book again

  • "We are just back from a lovely week in Chestnuts Barn and would highly recommend this property."

The cottage is a cosey barn conversion with all the comforts of home. The kitchen is well equipped the living room comfortable with a good sized smart TV. The WiFi and mobile reception (O2) are also both excellent. Holbrook has lots to offer both in terms of the two local pubs, a friendly tearoom, a small shop and lots of good walking straight from the door. For anyone worried, having read about the parking, I have a Land Rover Discovery Sport and was able to park this without difficulty, although anything bigger might be a challenge! Within a short drive there is much more to be found, The southern end White Peak is about 20 minutes away by car and Bakewell about 45 minutes. We booked on to the Denby Pottery factory tour (10 minutes away) which was a good option for a damp day. Also worthy of a mention is Barry Fitch butchers shop in Little Eaton (1.5 miles away). The Fitch family farm locally and take great pride in selling the best of their produce in the shop along with a popular range of filled cobs and much, much more! We are already looking forward to our next visit!

  • "The cottage is in a lovely spot in the village and the owners were really nice."

Our stay was almost like being in hotel rooms, with the fluffy towels, complimentary toiletries, comfortable beds and towelling dressing gowns. The only slight disadvantage was parking. The available spot is tight to get into, though fine if you are a competent driver. There is road parking in the village.

  • "Excellent cottage in a lovely location!"

The accommodation had everything we needed as a family which included a 10 year old boy and a small pooch. The village itself (Holbrook) was busy with some fast cars driving through but had an amazing pub (Spotted Cow), lovely café (Spotted Calf) and a very handy shop. There were lots of lovely places to visit within the area, loads of amazing walks from the cottage and plenty of local pubs serving the most fantastic food. We had a fantastic week at Chestnuts Barn, would definitely return and would highly recommend a visit!!

  • "A lovely family weekend break."

We were extremely lucky with the weather, 32 degrees! It would have been helpful to have a small freezer compartment in the fridge for our ice lollies though. The host left us a lovely welcome hamper too with a beautiful fresh cake! Great facilities and location. Lots of leaflets/walking guides etc to help us and a lovely spacious living room upstairs. Great idea to have the bedrooms downstairs as it was much cooler at night so we weren’t too hot when it came to sleeping. Thanks again for a brilliant stay! The Peaks is beautiful!

Accommodation was in a great location in a really friendly village and was clean, comfortable and ideal for us. Only thing we missed was a freezer box in the fridge to keep ice ....but we were blessed with sky high temperatures so we just had to meander the 100 yards to the pub . What a shame

Absolutely everything has been thought of. Only tiny thing I would change is the metal foot scraper at the front door. My little dog couldn't walk on it as her feet went into the holes. Other than that...PERFECTION

The place was clean, spacious, quiet. The shower has good pressure and the beds comfortable. We had everything we needed. The park space is a little awkward, but fine with a bit of skill and patience. The local shop has free cash withdrawals which is really useful as you'll need lots of change for the car parking if you're planning on driving anywhere.
