  • "Absolutely fantastic for the 4 of us and a dog."

We were 4 sixty somethings getting together after 40 odd years, to have a nostalgic trip back to Huddersfield where we had all met as students. This was just the luxury we needed. The house is so well equipped and we couldn’t fault anything.

  • "The description and pictures simply don’t do this cottage justice."

We have stayed in a large number of cottages across the country and this is by and far the best experience we have had! I use the term experience because that is what you get with Long Ing farm. Kay is an incredible host; from the Easter Hamper to the incredible farm tour, everything was excellent. We had loads planned for the weekend but ended up scrapping plans to stay in and around the cottage and Hade Edge…because there was so much to do! We are a family of five, three children aged 5-10 and visited with my in-laws. There is something for everyone…my highlight…the slow roast lamb I cooked in the AGA

  • "Long Ing Farm Cottage is beautiful."

This is more like a second home than a holiday home. Kay has ensured that everything is provided! The house is wonderfully spacious, superbly maintained and spotlessly clean. We have to make special mention of the mattresses - most comfortable holiday beds we’ve ever experienced! The view from the windows and especially the hot tub are stunning. We had a lovely walk around the farm, along the stream, past the sheep and friendly horse. It was lambing season and we were able to get up close to the lambs on our farm tour with Kay, and met Barbara and Betty, the friendly piggies. Just make sure to take your wellies - it is a farm after all! We highly recommend a stay at Long Inn Farm and hope to return.

Kay and family have an outstanding holiday home, in a wonderful location. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for all the amazing hospitality, and best of luck with the rest of the lambing. Kind Regards, Elliott & the rest of the guys.

The cottage is in a beautiful spot with amazing views and plenty of local walks and trails. The owner Kay is absolutely lovely and so helpful. She lives on the farm and is on hand for anything but not intrusive in any way. On the Sunday morning Kay took us around the farm and the grandchildren fed the animals and picked their own eggs. They thoroughly enjoyed it and it was very informative for us adults to. The facilities at the cottage are second to none it had everything you could possibly want. Sadly we never got to use the fire pit because of weather. Will definitely return though and hopefully have better weather

Beautiful views across the valley with a changing panorama throughout the day. And best of all clear skies at night to see the stars. The owners are on site and very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The farm tour was great fun and enjoyed by us all ( ages 17 months - 57 years). The house is well equipped, we even had a festive Christmas tree and decorations and treat yourself to one of the locally made cakes you can order through the owners they are amazing. I would highly recommend this property and it is definitely 5 stars.

Well stocked and lovely cottage. Ideal for our recent gathering. Lovely walks....despite the weather. Storms Dennis and Ciara time!! But at the head of the valley, weather makes it more atmospheric.....especially when relaxing in the hot tub.....which is a real bonus! Relaxing in the hot bubbles juxtaposed with the dark, wild and windy weather was quite contrast but enhanced the experience! We will certainly return at some point.....ohhh and don't forget to feed the pigs ... they're adorable!!

She even provided us with wellingtons so we could get to see her animals. Our grand children were very excited to see pigs, sheep, horses, cats and chickens. We enjoyed a great holiday in this beautiful farm house which had everything you could possibly need. The only problem was the roughness of the driveway down to the farm. A four-wheel drive vehicle would be an advantage! Otherwise the facilities and the quality of the property was top-notch.

The owner Kay was incredible from start to finish- so helpful, so knowledgeable and so generous! She gave us lots of tips on things to do locally, getting to Holmfirth and back. She was always on hand to answer any questions as well. We were even allowed to help with feeding the animals! Good walking areas around. The hot tub was a great bonus. Host was available as required and very helpful and friendly. Bedrooms were a tad on small side but otherwise everything needed in the house was there. Aga and fire would have been great to use in winter (not required on the week we were there due to warm weather)! Close to the house of the host and with quite a bit of work going on at their house, there was occasional disturbance with vans/workmen plus dustbinmen/postmen/deliveries coming down the single track at times that aren't necessarily convenient whilst on holiday! Overall though would definitely recommend to others.

We were made to feel at home from the outset. The Log Burner was comforting in the evenings. The nostalgia of the Aga tempted us into trying it out with some success, with initially the best baked potatoes we've had in years and then a 'Full English' breakfast. The bedrooms were both roomy and well furnished, the en-suites were fine. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped in every way. The lounge also suited us all well - again we were all very comfortable. We had one of our best Christmas Lunches ever in the conservatory. The owners were like old friends, there if you wanted them but they respected our privacy. All in all, a nice location, a beautiful property and nice people. We all enjoyed it and we'd go back.
