“I thought the place was overpriced bearing in mind it has only one bathroom for six people and no washing machine which would be a help to families and pretty standard for that type of property.”

I personally did not like the old bike stuck onto the wall with what reminded me of old bandages wrapped round it although I accept decorations are a matter of taste. Also the top bedroom has two windows but no blinds on them which should be in place to block the light at night time

The property

A wonderful semi-detached cottage resting in an elevated position of Holywell Green between Huddersfield and Halifax, with easy access to the northern Peak District and notable southern Dales.

This retreat is well-suited for friends or families wishing to spend some quality time, whether you plan on touring the rural landscapes, or appreciating all that One Eight Three Guest Cottage has to offer.

As soon as you enter, you will be enticed by the sense of charm that fills the accommodation, a blend of modern and traditional décor that flows effortlessly from room to room.

The ground floor is home to a contemporary kitchen, and a characterful lounge that lures you in with its unique features such as an old-fashioned bicycle hanging from the walls, taking you back in time.

There are some lovely extras to the room, from the decorative lighting to the beautiful table, perfect for dining with the whole family.

Two bedrooms are situated on the next floor; boasting a more neutral theme, with elegant furniture and soothing colours that create a heart-warming base to unwind.

A family bathroom finishes the first floor and tucked into the eaves above lies a final bedroom, tied together by a low ceiling and uplifted by Velux windows.

For more views step outside to the artificial turfed patio, boasting a collection of seating for you to choose from.

Sit back with a refreshing drink and enjoy the far reaching views as the sun goes down.

A couple of miles from the cottage is Halifax, home to the region's best-preserved Georgian and Victorian landmarks, whilst Huddersfield has a variety of entertainment and a shopping experience.

An eclectic cottage which can be enjoyed throughout the year.
