  • "I booked this for five days at short notice and was not expecting too much - I think the description and photos undersell."

The yellow kitchen is lovely, full of character, and everything you need in terms of utensils, and those extras like cling film, foil and kitchen roll - as well as milk, orange juice and coffee. This beautiful cottage has been refurbished to retain its original features, and so it does have a couple of low ceilings which add to the charm. However, it has all the modern facilities, like Netflix, washing machine, microwave, etc. The beds have good quality duvets and I found the bed very comfortable. Youlgreave is a lovely village, there is a shop a few yards down the road which sells everything, including papers and provisions and two pubs, and it is relatively undiscovered, unlike many Peak District villages! I was worried about parking, and whilst there is no allocated space, there is on street parking all along the road the cottage is on. I was able to park immediately outside the cottage on 3 days, and less than 20 yards along on the other two days. I didn't ever find parking to be a problem. Best of all, if you step out the front door, and stroll down the hill, you find yourself on the Limestone Way, and can walk along a pretty stream, and then off up the hill to enjoy a beautiful view of youlgreave!

  • "Very comfortable cottage and well fitted out."

We did struggle to park easily near the cottage, I would imagine it would be very difficult in high season.

  • "Great little property in a truly beautiful village in spectacular landscape."

The cottage has a lovely large living room and large master bedroom so feels very spacious. Great amenities and the provisions in the fridge / cupboards on arrival were just perfect. I had a lovely stay and would recommend this place thoroughly!

  • "This was an excellent choice for our first visit to the Peak District."

The cottage is in an excellent location, and equipt to a high standard. On arrival we were contacted by the owner Tracey who was very helpful with suggested places to visit. The cottage had everything we needed, with the local pubs serving quality meals. The cottage is a great location when considering a trip to Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bakewell. We wouldnt hesitate to book this cottage again for a visit to the peak district. We would recommend staying here.

  • "We had a lovely short stay at Mulberry Cottage - it is in a very convenient place for visiting the peaks and there are excellent walks nearby."

The cottage itself is very well appointed with a good comfortable bed and quality bedding and towels - the house was well stocked with any cleaning items needed and as a bonus there were nice toiletries in the bathroom too. Tracey the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating too. The only "downside" that I could envisage would be for taller people - we are both short and coped ok with the very limited height in the shower but even at 5ft 1in I bumped my head a couple of times on the bathroom doorway and ceiling in the shower! All in all it is a very well appointed cottage in a beautiful location

  • "The cottage was perfect and I can't fault it, and is in a great location within the Peak District."

I must agree with a previous reviewer and say that ceiling in the bathroom is sloped and very low, which makes it a challenge to have a shower if you're over 6 foot! But that wouldn't stop me from booking this cottage again

  • "We had a lovely stay at Mulberry Cottage."

It was a last minute staycation booking and we had never been to the Peak District before. The area exceeded expectations (Haddon Hall, Chatsworth, staggeringly beautiful walks etc). Youlegrave village is delightful and Mulberry cottage was extremely well and generously equipped. The only word of warning is that the ceiling in the bathroom is sloped and very low. If you are over 6ft tall, in spite of the many warning signs, you will bang your head!
