  • "Would stay again"

  • "An absolutely beautiful cottage, so cosy and warm, perfect for a very enjoyable February half term stay."

It would have been nice to have some firewood left for us on arrival, but apart from that it was very well equipped. Two TVs and two living areas, perfect for a family with kids. The hot tub was brilliant, though quite hard to keep the water warm enough in winter! The whole family wants to come back to Peters Lea.

  • "Lovely spacious cottage however some issues such as : brown water initially in kitchen and bathroom taps until run for a few minutes, fluff and dust in bath, oven tray with tin foil which had been cooked with bacon left in the kitchen cupboard indicated that the extra cleaning during Covid was not as stringent as it could be."

The twin room had a stained mattress protector and the folded blanket over the mattress (under the protector) did little to improve the comfort. Two chipped glasses had been put back into the kitchen cupboard.

Hi Thank you for your comments. I am bewildered why the water was brown, sometimes when the water is isolated by the waterworks for repairs it appears brown but this is easily rectified by running the taps briefly, which is obviously which you did. Also I cannot explain why "fluff and dust were in the bath " the bath is cleaned during the cleaning process therefore all dust should be rinsed away. I am really also unsure which oven tray was left in which cupboard. All oven trays are left in the oven. I'm unsure who would put a dirty greasy oven tray in a kitchen cupboard but I will speak to our cleaner to get her explanation. I will address the mattress when I next visit Property Owner

Such a beautiful setting with many walks nearby. Food at the Bull's Head was amazing and a definite must visit. Booking with sykes was such an easy process and always someone at the end of the telephone.

  • "Lovely village, nice quiet spot on the edge of the village."

Well stocked post office and deli and 3 pubs serving food plus a cafe. Wild swimming spot in the river near the village and lots of walks right from your doorstep. Cottage was really well stocked with plenty of kitchen equipment and plenty of room for 6. Hot tub had magnificent views and towels were provided in addition to bathroom ones. I liked to boot cupboard outside by the front door. A 2nd toilet would be good for 6, otherwise perfect!

  • "The cottage was brilliant and equipped."

I will back again and again. The only thing is that they need to change the water of the hot tub after use or at least doing check up if there is contamination.

No plastic cups for use in the hot tub. We had a lovely time. See you again soon.

  • "The cottage is lovely and in a great location, overall our stay was pleasant and we would recommend."

However there were a few snags that could be resolved with plumbing - no working toilet when we arrived (this was sorted within 2 hours), the sink in kitchen the tap doesn't turn off easy and the shower handle was broken. There was a small of gas in the kitchen but we could not find anything on - the owners might wish to check this. Could be clearer about parking - it is only for 2 cars.

Thank you for your valued feedback. We are sorry if there was an issue with the toilet, unfortunately we were not made aware of this by the previous guests but are glad to hear that this was rectified by our plumber in good time. Thank you for bringing the tap and the shower handle to our attention, we will certainly look into this. We will look into the smell of gas but the gas appliances are checked regularly by a registered Gas Engineer and the gas safety certificates are up to date. Thank you again for your comments and we are glad to hear you had a pleasant stay! Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely, however there were a couple of things that did not meet our expectations."

For example the hot tub did not feel heated, although the owners checked it and said it was set to the correct temperature. The hot tub was one of the main reasons that we had rented the cottage. Previously when we have rented cottages with hot tubs there has been a bit more flexibility with the temperature so that it is more enjoyable. Secondly to use the gas cooker you had to use matches or the candle lighter to ignite the hobs, this was not as simple as it would appear, on occasions it would take five minutes just to turn on the cooker, also the leak of gas during this time was not safe, especially as we were at the cottage with our 2yr old daughter. The checkout time was a 10am, this meant that the morning of our departure was very rushed, this was a particularly early checkout time considering that check in wasn't until 3pm.

Thank you for your comments. I understand that the owner was called to attend the hot tub and advised that it was at the manufacturers recommended temperature, increasing it would be dangerous. The owner did add water to it to make it more comfortable for you but this had a knock on effect with the usage as it then needed to warm up again. There is a lighter wand in the property to light the stove but the gas button must be pressed in in order for it to light, if you just move the dial without pressing it no gas will come out as this a safety feature. Check out for all of our properties is 10am and check in starts from 3pm depending on the property. Our owners need this time to ensure their cleaning team has the property ready to a standard that we would expect for our guests. If a hot tub is present in a property this can sometimes delay check in so it can be emptied and throughly cleaned between guests to avoid contamination. Property Owner

Enough space for us all and the hot tub was much enjoyed. Wonderful views. Directions could be tweaked as the Knoll club is hard to find in the dark, but otherwise an enjoyable stay.

  • "Having just had a family bereavement we were searching for a property with hot tub available immediately, in order to relax ."

Peters Lea was the only reasonably priced place available. Luckily, it was the ideal place for us. We tried the hot tub at various times of day and night- in fact the most enjoyable session was at night, stargazing. The local pub, The Bulls Head was very good, a balance of traditional and modern, excellent food, beer and service.Various local shops including a post office , selling a wide range of food, drink and essentials and a lively community- we went to a local coffee morning with lovely home bakes. Some pleasant walks round about the village too.
