The building has been the home of the Chetwynd-Talbot family who in 1858 inherited the earldom of Shrewsbury and the lodges occupy one section of the quadrangle which forms the ‘New Stables’, built by the 20th Earl of Shrewsbury in 1886, with the rest being occupied by Ingestre Riding School.
