The property

The Nook is a delightfully-presented, semi-detached cottage resting in the pretty village of Kniveton, on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Perfect for a family break, the property is a great base for exploring the southern edge of the Peak District, with plenty of walking and cycling opportunities.

Boasting a traditional décor, the sitting room has beamed ceilings and an arched red brick linted fireplace housing a cast iron woodburning stove so you can enjoy a cosy setting in the evenings.

The farmhouse style kitchen/diner is where you can prepare your meals whilst discussing your plans, which could be anything from shopping in the pretty market town of Ashbourne to stroll around the idyllic Carsington Water.

As you tire, head upstairs to find two bedrooms, including a double and twin finished in blue hues and housing a good amount of storage space for your personal items.

Outside there is a lovely patio area where you can get the barbecue going whilst the others prepare the dining table; just what you’ll desire after a day of fell walking.

There is also a useful external utility with washer/dryer so you can wash your muddy clothes straight away!

Just a stones throw away is the The Red Lion pub, offering a tasty pub menu and choice of ales, or head three miles south to the market town of Ashbourne which boasts a variety of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and coffee houses, giving you plenty of options.

Carsington water offers some of the best fishing opportunities in Derbyshire, along with a whole host of water sporting activities, or you can simply wander around its tranquil waters and soak up the scenery.

Visit the 1600s mansion and gardens of Chatsworth House, offering a magical forest where you can reach the highest point near the bridge and get a miraculous view of the area or venture into the market town of Wirksworth and see the imposing stone buildings amongst a network of narrow lanes, yards and alleys.

The Nook is a charming property for families to enjoy, any time of year.
