  • "Needed to spend some quality time with a dear friend so this was a last minute booking."

The cottage was just perfect to get away from current challenges. The accommodation was absolutely spotless and we had everything we needed to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. Our hosts were wonderful and even brought us fresh milk from the farm, which took us right back to our childhoods (before semi-skimmed milk was introduced!!). We loved the isolation of the cottage, surrounded by fields with lovely views, yet it was just a few minutes drive to the A6, which gives access to so many lovely towns and villages. This cottage is an absolute gem of a find! Highly recommended and somewhere I hope to return to in the future.

  • "We arrived at a beautifully prepared cottage that met all the Covid regulations, meaning we felt safe."

We loved being there and coming back to it at the end of the day. - like returning to our own home. The setting was very rural but we were not too far from local shops and a garage. The panoramic views were spectacular.

Stunning views from the cottage across the hills and dales. Cottage very well maintained and equipped. Cake and wine waiting for us. One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Highly recommended!

The owners are very accommodating & thoughtful. My only request would be the checking in & out times - check in to be earlier than 4.30 & check out to be later than 9.30am. Other than that I am looking forward to going back in October Thank you & kind regards Rachel holden

  • "We really enjoyed the location of this comfortable, well-equipped clean cottage on the edge of Alderwasley."

Having been lucky with the weather, it was great to sit out on the patio and admire the views across the green fields and hillsides. It's a great base for long circular walks around the area.

  • "My partner, my mother, my son, and I stayed in the cottage."

The cottage is great in every possible way - I love the space, the surrounding, the comfort, the minimalist approach, the fireplace, the convenience. My 8-month-old baby was especially impressed with the front room where he practiced crawling a lot more than back home. The only slight drawback is perhaps the bathroom, the shower sometimes doesn't work 100% well. Also the position of toilet paper is a bit tricky for a left-handed person (two of us are lefties).

Easily the best cottage we have ever stayed in. Super decor. Very warm. Views were amazing. Peace and quiet guaranteed. So great that we immediately booked two more weeks next year!

  • "The cottage we stayed in was idyllic, and the owners were very helpful."

The cottage was very clean, and procedures were placed during Covid 19 restrictions. It was a shame we had to depart from the cottage so early at 9.30am, but understand the owners have to allow extra time to thoroughly clean the cottage during Covid 19.

The views are incredible, added bonus that you are surrounded by cows on and off through the day (we named a few but there are far too many so we had to give up

  • "The cottage was second to none, and far exceeded our expectations."

My friends and I were impressed with the location, facilities and general ambience of the cottage. We were welcomed to delicious cake, a clean and well stocked space. The communication was efficient and prompt whenever we needed anything stocked up, adding to our home away from home feel. We could even see the stars from our living room! We came for a weekend away to destress from the daily grime of life, and the cottage achieved just that. Thank you!

Nice unexpected treat of a home made cake & bottle of on arrival. Owners on hand if needed if any problems arise. Would definitely recommend this place to stay, the only let down was the rain but it was something we expected coming this time of year
