  • "Lovely, well equipped cottage."

Very peaceful area considering its location in a village. Felt very homely and the secret door to the conservatory was good fun. Well placed for the western edge of the Peak District. Internet did not work at all which wasn’t a problem for us but clearly would be a problem if you were relying on it. Could do with some outside furniture.

  • "Very nice cottage and nicely laid out with very comfy bed, but a bit overlooked in the rear."

There's no live TV and the WiFi could drift out sometimes.

  • "What a lovely weekend we had in this lovely cottage."

It was exceptionally well stocked with anything and everything you would need . Including a welcome hamper with Eggs, butter, biscuits, breads and snacks . Really lovely inside and the hosts were brilliant . Definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback! Property Owner

  • "A lovely quiet location and a great holiday cottage."

Loved the secret door and sun room. Ideally situated for many attractions in the area. The information says there should be a tumble drier. This needs updating as there isn't one! The woodburner could do with instructions as we have had our own for years but this one definitely has a mind of its own! Overall an enjoyable stay and the beds were super comfy.

  • "Cottage not as described with filthy oven I nearly threw when I opened the oven door."

Response from Sykes falls very short from any form of customer service. I will be pursuing further

  • "The only problem is there are no TV channels (BBC1, ITV, C4, C5 etc."

Only had BBC Iplayer and luckily we had a personal Netflix login otherwise we wouldnt have had TV at night time. The owners helped us out with initial problems we came across but these would have been avoidable if there was an instruction booklet on how to use TV, oven, shower/bath etc. Welcome basket of goods was a lovely touch. Cottage very comfortable. And the location was peaceful and quiet

  • "We had an absolutely amazing time at the cottage."

The secret door was fantastic and the kids thought it was very exciting. It was really well equipped, with everything you could possibly need. The beds and bedding were supremely comfortable and felt very luxurious. The owner was very helpful with arrival time and anything we needed. We would love to stay there again.
